Goodnight Universe is a first-person narrative adventure from Nice Dream, published by Skybound Games. You play as Isaac, a six-month-old baby developing psychic abilities while looking for love and acceptance in his family and being pursued by a secretive technology company. These are individual critics’ judgments, not results from a controlled test. The favorable aggregate therefore signals a positive critical reception, not universal agreement on the game’s pacing or the value of its camera features.
How do the camera controls work?
Skybound’s October 2, 2025 announcement says players on camera-compatible platforms can interact using their eyes and expressions. Tribune Content Agency’s review describes blinking to switch on lights and using head or eye movement for certain interactions. It also reports that controller input can imitate the webcam systems.
The available sources do not establish that one particular camera model is required across platforms. Check the requirements for your specific platform and setup before buying if camera-based play is important to you. The review evidence suggests the game remains playable with a controller, while also recording one reviewer’s view that this omits a meaningful layer.

How long is it, and how much do choices change the story?
Tribune Content Agency’s November 27, 2025 review describes a runtime of roughly three hours and a mostly linear story. The reviewer says selections in Isaac’s inner monologue provide some room for expression without changing the outcome. Treat the length as that reviewer’s estimate, not a guaranteed playtime: pace and time spent with interactions can affect an individual run.

Steam’s listing identifies Nice Dream as developer, Skybound Games as publisher, and November 11, 2025 as the PC release date. The publisher announcement documents the physical PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 editions, but does not establish current retail stock, regional availability, or today’s prices.

The critic consensus points toward a good fit if you want a short, emotionally focused narrative adventure and are interested in a story where camera interaction supports the fiction. The trade-offs are a mostly linear structure, a roughly three-hour runtime according to one reviewer, uneven pacing noted by some critics, and a potentially less satisfying controller-only experience for players who value the camera layer.
