Not confirmed. As of October 3, 2026, MADFINGER Games has announced Hideout building, crafting and new smuggling activities for Gray Zone Warfare Update 0.5, but its teaser does not say players can produce or trade drugs. The studio’s announced schedule puts the Supporter Preview on October 19 and the full launch on October 22, 2026; both dates are still in the future and could change.
What is Gray Zone Warfare’s Rogue Ops update?
Update 0.5, subtitled “Rogue Ops,” is an announced major update and development milestone for Gray Zone Warfare. MADFINGER Games says it marks the move from pre-alpha to alpha and adds a gameplay loop built around constructing a Hideout and crafting. The studio also points to new weapons, large locations and community-requested improvements.
The announcement’s most specific description of the new loop is: “Rogue Ops introduces an entirely new gameplay loop centered around crafting and building your Hideout.” The studio also says players will be able to “become a rogue PMC, taking part in completely new smuggling activities.” Those statements establish the broad themes, but not the detailed steps, recipes, goods or rewards involved. MADFINGER’s October 1 announcement is the source for the announced features.
Can you really become a drug baron?
That is not established by the teaser. “Drug baron” appears in the headline framing, but the official announcement does not name drugs or narcotics, or confirm production, dealing or any particular contraband. The supported description is that Rogue Ops will add Hideout building, crafting and smuggling activities for rogue PMCs.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Until MADFINGER publishes more specific details, it would be inaccurate to say players can run a drug operation. The teaser confirms the smuggling premise, not what players will smuggle or how the crafting system will work.
When does Update 0.5 release?
MADFINGER announced October 22, 2026, as the planned launch date. The Supporter Preview is scheduled to begin October 19, giving Supporter Edition owners an opportunity to try the update early and help identify remaining issues. These are announced dates, not completed events: as of October 3, 2026, both are still ahead, and the schedule could change.

What is known—and still unknown—about crafting and smuggling?
The announced feature set points to a connected Hideout, crafting and smuggling loop, but the teaser does not explain its mechanics. It does not identify craftable items, smuggled goods, production inputs, missions, vendors, or how these activities fit together. Those specifics should not be treated as confirmed until the studio provides them.
For now, players can rely on the broad premise: a new Hideout-building and crafting loop, alongside the opportunity to play as a rogue PMC and take part in smuggling. The teaser also previews new weapons and large locations, without detailing them.
