Obsidian Entertainment released Grounded 2 Patch 0.1.2 for all players on August 6, 2025. It brought a broad set of quality-of-life changes and bug fixes, including stability work—but Obsidian said the patch was not expected to resolve performance problems as a whole.
What changed in Grounded 2 Patch 0.1.2?
The official Patch 0.1.2 notes cover quality-of-life improvements and fixes across multiplayer, building, buggies, Creative Mode, The Park, combat, UI/UX, gameplay, the environment, audio, localization, and art. These highlights illustrate the scope; they are not a complete list of every fix.
Quality-of-life changes
- Acorn tops now drop reliably.
- Steam players gained a flow for accessing crossplay.
- Character icons were updated in the HUD and map.
- Unusable “explore” and “go to entry” prompts were removed.
- Players can hot-deposit haulables while riding a buggy.
- Wolf spider fur received polish.
Examples of fixes
- Shared World crash and save-loss issues were addressed, alongside multiplayer desynchronization improvements.
- Key mappings now persist after sessions.
- Buggy summoning was improved.
- A progression blocker after saving and loading following the tutorial mites was fixed.
- Terrain gaps and rendering issues were addressed.
Did Patch 0.1.2 improve stability?
Obsidian said it expected “a 40%- 60% improvement from 0.1.1.3” in stability. That range was the developer’s estimate in the August 6, 2025 notes; the announcement did not provide independent measurement details or a benchmark methodology.
Obsidian also cautioned: “We don’t expect this to fix the performance problems as a whole, but various optimizations are underway behind the scenes”. The estimate should therefore not be read as a promise that every player’s performance issues would improve by that amount or disappear after updating.

How to get the update if it does not appear
Obsidian advised players who did not see Patch 0.1.2 to verify their game files or restart their console. On Steam, verifying the files is the suggested first step; on console, restart the system and check for the update again.
Is 0.1.2 the current Grounded 2 patch?
No. Patch 0.1.2 is a historical release, not the current version. Obsidian announced Patch 0.1.3 on August 25, 2025, with further crash, performance, save, and gameplay fixes; its notes also refer back to the 0.1.2 per-world save limit. The official issue tracker lists releases later than 0.1.3, including 0.5.0. Because that tracker changes over time, consult it for current issue statuses rather than treating this older patch summary as a live build guide.
