Higher-rarity dishes were worth more points, and adding food after the storm began could raise its level. This guide covers the event’s reported mechanics and reward routes; it does not establish whether Kitchen Storm is available in the live game today.
What was the Kitchen Storm?
Kitchen Storm was part of Grow a Garden’s 2025 Cooking Event, which ran from August 2 to 16, 2025. The community wiki says cooking later became a permanent game feature, but that does not confirm the event itself is still available. The sources cited here do not establish its live status as of October 8, 2026.

- Cook food. The reported trigger uses cooked dishes, not raw ingredients.
- Submit the food to Chris P at the cooking area. Beebom quotes the interaction prompt as “Try this food I cooked up!”
- Reach 40 points. Pro Game Guides and the Grow a Garden community wiki report that the initial threshold is 40 points, at which point the storm starts for the server.
- Keep submitting food to raise the storm level. The community wiki reports that each additional 40 points raises the level.

These are mechanics reported by secondary guides, not independently tested figures. On the published scale, a Transcendent food contributes more toward the threshold than a Common one; the sources do not establish a statistically optimal dish to submit.
What happens during the storm?
The community wiki reports that a storm lasts 10 minutes, speeds up cooking, makes mutation carryover more likely, and periodically gives a random garden fruit the Aromatic mutation. Beebom also describes doubled cooking speed and increased mutation chances.

For Aromatic fruit, the wiki lists an interval of every 30 seconds at level 1. It marks the higher-level cooldowns as unknown, so there is no confirmed timing to give for those levels.

The community wiki’s Connoisseur review list includes Gourmet Egg, Kitchen Crate, Gourmet Seed Pack, Culinarian Chest, Spring Onion Seed, Cooking Cauldron, Kitchen Flooring, Sunny-Side Chicken, Kitchen Cart, Aromatic Pet Mutation Shard, Smoothie Fountain, Butternut Squash Seed, Pricklefruit Seed, Gorilla Chef, and Bitter Melon Seed.
Pro Game Guides publishes a separate Rat Connoisseur reward table with odds including Culinarian Chest at 40%, Spring Onion at 30%, Pricklefruit at 8%, Bitter Melon at 5%, and Gorilla Chef at 5%. These are figures from that guide’s Rat Connoisseur table, not guaranteed current rates. They differ from the community wiki’s table, so they should not be treated as a definitive probability set for every reward route.

Should you submit mutated food or regular food?
Guides recommend using mutated ingredients when preparing dishes intended for the Rat Connoisseur. Pro Game Guides says more mutated ingredients can improve the chance that the finished food carries a mutation and mentions a carryover meter. Beebom advises saving non-mutated dishes for Chris P and mutated dishes for the Rat Connoisseur. These are reported guide strategies, not verified optimization results.
Choose the route based on your goal: Chris P submissions contribute points toward starting or leveling the storm, while the Rat Connoisseur is a separate review-reward route. The available guides do not provide sufficiently consistent odds to identify the best food for maximizing reward value.
How reliable are the listed rewards and mechanics?
The storm thresholds, rarity points, duration, and multipliers are reported by secondary guides and a community wiki, not by a current official status page. Reward lists and odds are especially context-sensitive: the community wiki and Pro Game Guides present different tables, and the sources do not justify blending them.
