Stephen Root has confirmed that he appears in Grand Theft Auto VI, but he has not said which character he plays. Rockstar has not published a cast list: the performers behind Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos remain unconfirmed, and Root’s frequently repeated link to Brian Heder is an inference, not an official credit.
What is confirmed about the GTA 6 actors?
Root confirmed his involvement in an Associated Press interview on September 13, 2026. As quoted in Dexerto’s report, he said, “Yeah, you’re going to see me in that.” He did not name his character.

Root also said viewers had recognized his voice in the game’s earlier marketing: “I think, from the first rollout of GTA that they were doing almost a year ago, they had my character in there, and too many people knew me from King of the Hill and my voice, so that secret got divulged then.” That confirms his presence in the game, not a specific role.
Who voices Jason and Lucia?
The actors behind Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos have not been confirmed in the sources available as of October 8, 2026. Rockstar’s official character profiles establish who the protagonists are, but do not identify their performers.
#1 Best Overall
Jason Duval
Rockstar describes Jason as someone who grew up around grifters and crooks, served in the Army, and now works for local drug runners in the Keys. The profile does not name an actor.
Lucia Caminos
Rockstar says Lucia was imprisoned at Leonida Penitentiary after fighting for her family and is determined to pursue a better life. Her profile does not name an actor either.

Does Stephen Root play Brian Heder?
That role has not been confirmed. Root’s voice has led people to associate him with Brian Heder, a veteran drug runner in the Keys, but neither Root nor Rockstar has identified him as Brian. Treat the connection as speculation rather than a casting credit.
Which GTA 6 character details has Rockstar published?
Rockstar has published profiles for several characters and groups, but those descriptions are not actor credits.
