A demo reel reported in December 2025 was attributed to a former Rockstar animator, and its removed description reportedly identified some early clips as Grand Theft Auto VI. But later reporting said the reel’s origin remained unconfirmed. The available reporting does not establish that the footage is authentic GTA 6 material—or whether it is AI-generated.
What the reported demo reel showed
PC Gamer and GTA BOOM described three brief, rough animation sequences in the reel. One showed a character taking a bicycle from a rental rack and returning it. Two showed a character getting out of a pickup truck, including a sequence moving from the roof to the truck bed and then to the ground. PC Gamer said the clips had flat textures and appeared to be work in progress.
GTA BOOM reported that the removed video description attributed the bicycle animation to player characters and the truck-exit animations to non-player characters. That is a detail reported from the description, not a statement independently confirmed by Rockstar.
What is—and is not—verified
The reports support describing this as a demo reel attributed to a former Rockstar animator. PC Gamer said the removed reel’s description identified the early footage as GTA VI. In later coverage, Dot Esports noted that the account was private and its ownership could not be verified from the account itself; it also said visual similarities did not conclusively connect the clips to GTA VI.

Accordingly, the accurate description is alleged or reported GTA 6-related footage, not confirmed gameplay. The sources reviewed provide no forensic analysis establishing whether the clips are AI-generated. Treating either “it is definitely GTA 6” or “it is definitely not AI” as settled would go beyond the available evidence.

PC Gamer reported that the original Vimeo reel was deleted after it circulated. Rockstar Games Customer Support’s policy on posting copyrighted material says: “Any posting of in-game footage from leaked copies of the game prior to its official release date will be taken down, regardless of how the game was obtained.” The policy, last updated January 10, 2025, describes Rockstar’s general approach to pre-release leaked footage; it does not say who removed this particular reel or why.
