What did the GTA 5 source-code leak reportedly contain?
HotHardware reported on December 26, 2023, that a 4GB package released on Christmas Day purportedly included GTA 5 source code and other Rockstar internal material. The outlet said it did not include assets such as models, textures, animations, or audio. A later PC Gamer report, dated September 19, 2026, described online material said to include remnants associated with cancelled GTA 5 single-player DLC, including Liberty City and “Agent Trevor,” as well as an early GTA 6 map version. PC Gamer said the material’s exact provenance was unclear, although the apparent consensus linked it to the 2022 intrusion. Did Rockstar cancel GTA 5 story DLC?
The reports are consistent with plans or development work for single-player add-ons that did not become released story expansions, but the files described in coverage do not establish exactly what was approved, how far each idea progressed, or why it did not ship.

There is relevant official context: Rockstar’s Newswire archive search result records a December 2013 announcement promising substantial 2014 Story Mode additions continuing Michael, Franklin, and Trevor’s adventures. The “up to eight” add-on list
HotHardware described a script or configuration listing that appeared to point to as many as eight possible offline add-ons. The same report cautioned that the file could have been a placeholder and the entries entirely hypothetical. It is therefore not evidence that eight DLCs were completed—or even that eight distinct expansions were firmly planned.

Liberty City and “Agent Trevor”
PC Gamer reported that recently circulating material included remnants associated with Liberty City and “Agent Trevor.” The report also described the purported GTA 6 map as very unfinished and said it reportedly dated to 2015. These descriptions should be treated as PC Gamer’s account of material with unclear provenance, not as a verified production history.
PC Gamer also distinguished gameplay footage discussed in its article from the leaked material: the footage came from a cancelled mod, not from the leak itself. A video depicting an idea or recreation is not interchangeable with evidence that Rockstar built that content into GTA 5.

Does the GTA 5 leak prove Bully 2 was in development?
HotHardware reported references or fragments relating to Bully 2 and said the material appeared to indicate use of Rockstar’s then-nascent RAGE engine. It also noted that Rockstar had never officially announced a Bully sequel and cited earlier reporting that work had stopped in 2009 after more than a year.
At most, reported references can suggest that technical work or a project existed at some stage. They do not show that the game received final approval, reached completion, or has a current release plan. HotHardware said the GTA 5 leak it covered did not include new Bully 2 media.
