GTA VI is not $100 for every buyer in the U.S.: the Standard Edition is $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition is $99.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two announced those prices on June 24, 2026; the game is scheduled to launch November 19, 2026.
Is GTA 6 really $100?
Only if you choose the Ultimate Edition. The $100 figure is a rounded version of its official U.S. price, $99.99; the Standard Edition costs $79.99. Take-Two Interactive announced both prices on June 24, 2026, and the U.S. PlayStation and Xbox storefronts list the same amounts.

Before that announcement, a GamesRadar report described five prices on a European retailer listing: €89.99, €99.99, €109.99, €119.99, and €199.99. At the time, Rockstar and Take-Two had not formally announced preorder prices. Those were retailer-listing figures, not official U.S. prices, and they do not establish what GTA VI costs in Europe now.
What do the two editions cost, and what is included?

The Ultimate Edition costs $20 more than the Standard Edition. Its announced extras are premium content, so the higher price is an edition choice—not evidence that the Standard Edition is an incomplete game. The listed PlayStation preorder offer includes a month of GTA+ that auto-renews unless canceled; check the current store terms and cancel before renewal if you do not want a continuing paid subscription. These are U.S. prices and PlayStation offer details, not a statement of prices or promotions in other regions.

Which platforms and release date are confirmed?
Take-Two’s announcement and Rockstar Support identify PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the console platforms, with a planned release date of November 19, 2026. The official information cited here does not establish a PC preorder or PC price, so the console prices should not be treated as a confirmed PC price.
Does a boxed copy include a disc?
No. Rockstar says the physical version is a box containing a download code, not a disc. The code’s region must match the region of the platform account used to redeem it. Buying from a retailer in the same country as the account can reduce the risk of activation problems.

How should buyers interpret the old price speculation?
The earlier headline reflected pre-announcement concern and retailer-listing speculation. The later official U.S. announcement settles the central question: $79.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Ultimate. Bank of America securities analyst Omar Dessouky, as quoted by PC Gamer, argued that a successful higher-priced GTA could “raise the price point for the entire industry.” That is an analyst’s prediction, not a statement from Rockstar or Take-Two about future game prices.
