Grand Theft Auto VI is currently listed for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar announced the move in November 2025, shifting the game from its previous May 26, 2026 date. Rockstar said the additional time would help it reach its expected level of polish; the announced date is a schedule, not a guarantee that it cannot change.
Is GTA 6 delayed again?
The November 2025 schedule change was a delay from May 26 to November 19, 2026. In the official materials reviewed for this article, Rockstar and Take-Two still list November 19, 2026, and there is no announcement of another delay. Check Rockstar’s GTA VI page for the latest announced date.

How the release date changed
- May 2025: Take-Two said GTA VI, then expected in Fall 2025, was planned for May 26, 2026. Take-Two’s investor materials documented that schedule.
- November 6, 2025: Take-Two announced a new date of November 19, 2026, moving the launch about six months beyond the May date. The company’s November 2025 results release includes the revised date.
Why was GTA 6 delayed?
Rockstar said it needed additional time to finish the game to the level of polish players expect. The statement, reproduced in PC Gamer’s report, said the extra months would allow the studio to deliver that level of polish. This is Rockstar’s stated rationale, not an independently verified account of the game’s development.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick also confirmed the revised schedule in the company’s November 6, 2025 results release, saying Rockstar would release the game on November 19, 2026. Take-Two’s official release describes the company’s current plan.

Which platforms are announced?
Rockstar lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The reviewed official announcements do not establish a PC release date or confirm a PC version. Platform plans can change, so rely on Rockstar’s current official game page for updates.
