It introduces Jason and Lucia’s criminal predicament in Vice City and the wider fictional state of Leonida, with “Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters on the soundtrack. Rockstar says all trailer footage was captured on PlayStation 5.
What Trailer 2 reveals about Jason and Lucia
Rockstar’s official synopsis says Jason and Lucia are caught in a criminal conspiracy after an easy score goes wrong. The trouble stretches across Leonida, and the two must rely on one another to get through it. That is the confirmed story setup; “lies” is a headline-style interpretation, not a specific plot point Rockstar identifies in its synopsis.

The trailer frames the pair amid crime, danger and the everyday spectacle of Vice City. Those images establish tone and setting, but they do not confirm every character’s role or how the conspiracy unfolds.
Vice City is part of the wider state of Leonida
The trailer places the story in Vice City, USA, within Leonida, a fictional state. Rockstar’s synopsis describes the conspiracy as extending across Leonida, so the premise is not limited to the city. The official trailer materials identify the setting but do not provide a complete map or a detailed list of places visited.

Was GTA 6 Trailer 2 captured in-game on PS5?
Take-Two Interactive’s May 6, 2025 announcement states: “All trailer footage was captured on PlayStation 5.” Rockstar’s official YouTube description further characterizes the trailer as captured entirely in-game and combining gameplay with cutscenes. That confirms the capture platform, but it does not establish that every shot is uninterrupted gameplay or indicate how the final game will perform on either console.
What song plays in the trailer?
The official YouTube listing credits “Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters. It names Sharon Robinson as the songwriter and credits publication to Universal Music Corp. on behalf of itself, Buchu Music and Robinhill Music (ASCAP), with the recording courtesy of RCA Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.

Does the “sex” in the headline mean Trailer 2 shows explicit content?
Not on the evidence of Rockstar’s game-level descriptors alone. The current official GTA VI page lists Strong Sexual Content among the game’s descriptors, alongside Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Use of Drugs and Alcohol, and In-Game Purchases. These apply to the game; they are not a scene-by-scene content description of Trailer 2 and do not prove the trailer itself contains explicit sexual material.
Release date and platforms: what is current?
Rockstar’s current game page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and gives a release date of November 19, 2026. The May 6, 2025 announcement listed May 26, 2026 as the then-planned date; that is historical, not the current date shown by Rockstar.

What to know about editions and physical copies
For purchase-format questions, Rockstar Support’s platforms, editions, and versions guide says the physical box contains a download code, not a disc. The guide was last updated August 18, 2026. Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer in the country associated with the platform account; it lists regional restrictions for PlayStation and says Xbox codes are not region-locked. Check the support page and retailer terms for current code compatibility before buying.
Rockstar’s current page also announces “The Vice City Collection,” a limited-edition collectible set inspired by the fictional in-game TV show Macca the Gator. The cited announcement does not establish availability through any particular outside retailer.
