Rockstar Games’ official Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2, released May 6, 2025, sets up a failed score that pulls Jason and Lucia into a criminal conspiracy spanning Leonida. Rockstar says they must rely on each other if they want to make it out alive. That is the confirmed story premise; the trailer’s images offer atmosphere, not confirmation of additional plot twists.
What does the GTA 6 story trailer reveal?
Rockstar’s official synopsis says Jason and Lucia have always known “the deck is stacked against them.” When an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves caught in a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida. The synopsis concludes that they are “forced to rely on each other more than ever” if they want to survive. Rockstar Games’ Trailer 2 page identifies the video as Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 and dates it May 6, 2025.
This establishes the central setup: a botched job, a larger conspiracy, and a partnership that becomes essential. It does not establish the full sequence of events, the identity of everyone involved, or how Jason and Lucia’s story ends.
Who are Jason and Lucia?
Rockstar presents Jason and Lucia as the story’s central pair and says their circumstances lead them to depend on each other. The official synopsis does not provide detailed character histories, so claims about their pasts or the nature of their relationship beyond that partnership remain unconfirmed.

Where is GTA 6 set?
The premise places the conspiracy across Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional state, and describes its setting as “the sunniest place in America.” Rockstar’s game page presents modern Vice City within the wider world of Leonida. The trailer’s sunny imagery and criminal subject matter create a deliberate contrast, but visual details alone do not confirm specific missions or plot events.
How Trailer 2 fits with Rockstar’s other GTA 6 videos
Rockstar’s official Grand Theft Auto VI page features Trailer 1, dated December 4, 2023, as well as Trailer 2 and a later extended look. Trailer 2 is the official label for the May 6, 2025 video; “GTA 6 story trailer” is a useful description of its narrative focus, not Rockstar’s title for it.
