The car wash in GTA Online: Money Fronts is more than a novelty: the Hands On Car Wash is the first business in a network of fronts, and its legitimate car-cleaning jobs help manage Heat so the operation can keep earning passive income. Rockstar released the update on June 17, 2025, so it is no longer an upcoming update.
What Money Fronts adds to GTA Online
Rockstar announced Money Fronts on June 11, 2025, and released it on June 17. The announcement listed PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Rockstar’s announcement and June 17 update post on Steam describe an operation built around businesses that disguise illicit income, rather than a standalone car-washing activity.
The Hands On Car Wash is the entry point. It provides customer-facing work—cleaning vehicles and returning them to their owners for payment—while also serving as a hub for Money Laundering missions and income routed from businesses the player already owns. Rockstar says owning it boosts sales from the Counterfeit Cash Factory.
How to start the car wash business
- Answer Martin Madrazo’s call and meet Mr. Faber at LSIA to begin the Money Fronts storyline.
- Acquire the Hands On Car Wash. Rockstar identifies it as the first purchase and the starting front for the operation.
- Launch Money Laundering missions or legal work by calling Raf or using the laptop inside a front.
These are the entry steps described in Rockstar’s release instructions; exact in-game prompts may depend on where the player is in the introduction.
#1 Best Overall
- The Matchbox Spin Cyclone Car Wash Playset whips up the adventures with kid-powered storytelling and unexpected surprises.
- There's no water necessary in this wash where cars race into the cyclone tunnel that spins when kids pull the handle.
- The see-through tunnel will randomly stop on 1 of 3 different outcomes that indicate if the vehicle is dirty, soapy or clean. When it's clean, it automatically launches the car down the ramp.
- Once a clean vehicle heads down the ramp, the next one enters the wash for continuous action.
- The set includes a 1:64 die-cast Corvette and tow truck for realistic storytelling inspiration.
How car-washing work interacts with Heat
Money Laundering missions and Mr. Faber Work raise Heat at the front from which the player launches them. A front with Heat is marked on the map, and Rockstar says it must be cooled through legal work before passive income resumes. At the car wash, that means cleaning customer cars and returning them.
Rockstar’s July 2025 event explanation clarifies the consequence: passive income stalls when Heat reaches its maximum, and legitimate work gets that business earning again. In other words, the car wash’s legal jobs are part of the management loop, not just an optional side activity. See Rockstar’s event explanation.

How the other fronts connect to existing businesses
After acquiring the car wash, players can expand into two other fronts. Each is tied to a business activity already in the game:
| Front | Legal work described by Rockstar | Associated existing business |
|---|---|---|
| Hands On Car Wash | Clean customer vehicles and return them | Counterfeit Cash Factory; owning the front boosts its sales |
| Smoke on the Water | Product delivery work | Weed Farm |
| Higgins Helitours | Tourist-flight work | Air Freight Cargo |
Rockstar presents the fronts as connected businesses with legal work and links to existing operations. It does not establish fixed, permanent earnings figures for comparing their profitability; GTA$ payouts and weekly bonuses can vary with events.
