1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor broadly useful runs, Born Gain, Arctic Ring, and Blinding Rush stand out for Magick economy, control, and safety; damage boons such as Zeus’s Blitz picks and Ares’s blades can be stronger when your weapon and build support them. This is an editorial ranking for standard progression, not an official tier list or a universal answer: the best pick depends on your weapon, aspect, offered options, and existing synergies.
This list covers individual boons, not every Core, Duo, or Legendary boon. It prioritizes dependable value across a run while including several build-specific damage picks. Hades II launched in version 1.0 in September 2025, and its balance has continued to change; the rankings below take account of the April 14, 2026 Post-Launch Patch 2 notes and guides updated or verified later in 2026.
How this ranking works
A boon earns a higher place here when it can make a meaningful difference without demanding a rare combination of other boons. That means weighing damage alongside control, survivability, and Magick economy. A powerful capstone can be an excellent payoff, but its value as a pick is lower if it needs several specific pieces before it works.
For a two-boon choice, compare the slot each boon fills—Attack, Special, Cast, Sprint, Magick, or passive—with your weapon and aspect. Then ask whether it improves damage, control, or survival; whether it consumes or primes Magick; and what setup it needs. The same boon can be a standout in one build and an awkward fit in another.

These entries draw on independent ranking guides with different goals: NeonHades2 explains its pick-value approach and reports verification against Post-Launch Patch 2 Hotfix 5 on July 28, 2026; JustGameGuides says its September 25, 2026 list uses build 23661331 and assumes a high-Fear run under Vow of Rivals. Neither is an official balance ranking, and this list uses their examples as evidence rather than adopting either guide’s tier order.
The 10 best boons
1. Born Gain — Hera
Born Gain is the strongest all-purpose pick on this list when your run relies on Omega actions. Its Magick restoration loop helps keep those actions available, making it useful for builds that would otherwise struggle to sustain their resource use. Its value is not automatic: the priming and location tradeoff matters, and some weapons or playstyles simply do not need it.
2. Arctic Ring — Demeter
Arctic Ring makes a Cast do more than mark an area. It adds Freeze and repeated damage within the binding circle, giving Cast-focused builds both control and sustained pressure. The combination is especially useful when enemies can be held in the affected area; a build that rarely uses Cast will get less from it.
Rank #2
- Battle beyond the Underworld to vanquish the Titan of Time as the Princess of the Dead in this bewitching sequel to the original rogue-like dungeon crawler. Hades II lets players explore a bigger, deeper mythic world with the full might of Olympus at their call in a story that reacts to their every setback and accomplishment.
3. Blinding Rush — Hermes
Blinding Rush improves Sprint speed and adds Daze, a practical pairing of mobility and control. It can help you reposition and reduce pressure in dangerous encounters, which makes it a reliable defensive option rather than a boon that needs a damage combo to justify its slot.

4. Heaven Strike — Zeus
Heaven Strike adds Blitz damage to Attack, opening a route into a Zeus damage setup. It is a high-value pick when your weapon can apply Blitz consistently and you can trigger its payoff effectively. Without that follow-through, the Attack boon is less compelling than its tier-list placement may suggest.
5. Heaven Flourish — Zeus
Heaven Flourish places Blitz on Special instead, giving weapons that lean on Special a way to build around Zeus. It is not a second universal upgrade to Heaven Strike: choose the slot that matches how your weapon and aspect actually deal damage.
Rank #3
- Battle out of hell: As the immortal Prince of the Underworld
- Unleash the fury of Olympus: The Olympians have your back!
- Befriend gods, ghosts, and monsters
- Built for replayability: New surprises await each time you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld

6. Static Shock — Zeus
Static Shock adds chain lightning and can serve as a foundation for a lightning-focused build. The cost is primed Magick, so its damage comes with a resource tradeoff. It makes more sense when you have the Magick economy to support it and other Blitz effects that turn the investment into a coherent setup.
7. Arc Flash — Zeus
Arc Flash gives a Blitz setup another way to trigger active Blitz through direct damage. That makes it a useful payoff when the rest of the build is already applying and sustaining Blitz; it is not a standalone reason to choose Zeus if the required setup is absent.

Bounce Back restores a portion of damage taken from one encounter to the next, offering sustain over the course of a run. Its listed restoration varies with boon rarity, so there is no single percentage that applies to every version. It is a sensible choice when survival is the priority, particularly if a damage pick would not address the run’s main weakness.

- Number of Local Players: 1 to 2
9. Sword Ring — Ares
Sword Ring brings high damage from falling blades, making it an attractive Ares option for builds that can capitalize on its area and timing. Its value is patch-sensitive: Supergiant’s official Post-Launch Patch 2 notes, dated April 14, 2026, say its damage was increased. That change is a reason to consider it, not proof it is best for every weapon or encounter.
10. Profuse Bleeding — Ares
Profuse Bleeding rewards a more specific Ares setup. The April 2026 rework makes it trigger blades when you collect Plasma or inflict Wounds, creating synergy with those effects rather than offering generic value in any run. It can be a strong pick when your build already supports those triggers; otherwise, prioritize a boon that works immediately.

Post-Launch Patch 2 is relevant because it changed the value or behavior of several boons, especially Ares picks on this list. Its official notes also report that Tidal Ring hits multiple foes more reliably; Seismic Servo applies its bonus to more boons; Snow Queen’s barrier is no longer negated by attacks that deal no damage; and Fire Away works with all Casts. The patch reworked or buffed several Ares boons, including the Profuse Bleeding change, and increased Sword Ring damage.

Those notes are a snapshot, not a promise that balance will stay fixed. Supergiant announced Hades II’s v1.0 release on September 25, 2025, and announced Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 availability for April 14, 2026. Current platform or patch availability can differ by release and date; check the game’s official announcements for the latest details.
When to pick a different boon
- You need to survive first: favor sustain or control such as Bounce Back, Arctic Ring, or Blinding Rush over a damage boon whose setup is incomplete.
- Your weapon favors a specific slot: choose Heaven Strike for an Attack-oriented approach or Heaven Flourish for a Special-oriented one, rather than treating them as interchangeable.
- You cannot support the resource cost: think twice about Static Shock if primed Magick would disrupt the Omega actions your build depends on.
- The synergy is not online: Arc Flash and Profuse Bleeding rise in value when Blitz, Plasma, or Wounds triggers are already part of the build; without them, a reliable boon may offer more immediate help.
- A more specific plan is taking shape: a high-Fear ranking may favor damage and synergy differently from a general-progression list. Do not assume an advanced-run tier list transfers unchanged to a safer run.
