Halo Infinite’s February 4, 2025 Spring Update launched Operation: Frontlines, adding the Fuel Rod SPNKr, Assault matchmaking, the Forge-made Origin map, Ranked changes and a new 50-tier Operation Pass. The free track covered its first 20 tiers; premium options opened more rewards and, at the higher price, instantly completed those first 20 tiers.
When did the Frontlines February update launch?
Halo Support published the Halo Infinite Spring Update 2025 patch notes on February 4, 2025. Halo Waypoint introduced the launch with the line, “The 2025 Spring Update for Halo Infinite begins with Operation: Frontlines.” The dated playlist schedules and store details below describe the launch period; they do not establish what is currently available in matchmaking or the store.
What did the Operation Pass include?
Frontlines was the first Operation in a three-Operation group. Its reward track had 50 tiers, while the free track included the rewards in the first 20. The two premium offers were priced in in-game Credits, not cash:
| Offer | What it included |
|---|---|
| Free track | Free rewards in the first 20 tiers. |
| 1,000 Credits | Access to all 50 tiers and paid rewards, bonus items, an extra Challenge slot, and bonus Match XP while Frontlines was active. |
| 2,500 Credits | The 1,000-Credit premium benefits, plus instant completion of the first 20 tiers. |
The free Frontlines track was available during a five-week Operation window. Buying the Premium Pass during that window was required to keep it selectable afterward. Halo Support said rewards from decommissioned Operations would later be made available through the Exchange for free-track content and the Shop for premium-track content. Halo Waypoint also described later availability of missed premium content at an adjusted price. Neither announcement confirms which Frontlines items are currently on sale.

What is the Fuel Rod SPNKr?
The Fuel Rod SPNKr is a Banished-modified power weapon available in matchmaking, Custom Games, Forge and Academy. Halo Support describes a six-shot magazine and semi-automatic firing. Its projectiles arc over longer distances, so aim for a direct hit when trying to eliminate an enemy Spartan in one shot. Halo Waypoint also notes its usefulness against vehicles.
How do Neutral Bomb and One Bomb differ?
Frontlines brought back Assault in two formats. In Neutral Bomb, both teams contest one bomb at the center of the map. One Bomb is round-based, with teams taking turns attacking and defending.
Rank #2
- Arena: A four-versus-four Assault playlist on Arena maps.
- Squad Battle: An eight-versus-eight Assault playlist on Squad Battle maps.
- Ranked Arena: Ranked Neutral Bomb was added on Fortress and Aquarius.
The patch notes scheduled the Assault playlists and Ranked Neutral Bomb rotation to end on March 11, 2025. That was the announced schedule, not confirmation of present-day playlist availability.
What changed for Origin and Ranked?
Origin, a Forge-made rework of Halo 5: Guardians’ Coliseum adapted for Halo Infinite, entered Custom Games and multiple matchmaking playlists. Ranked also received map-jump and weapon or equipment placement adjustments. A rotating Ranked Squad Battle playlist was added, featuring five listed eight-versus-eight modes. Ranks in Ranked playlists reset with the update, and players needed to complete placement matches.
What did the update add to Forge and fix?
Forge gained a generic bomb object and related scripting support, enabling creators to build bomb-focused experiences. The patch notes also listed other Forge improvements, bug fixes and stability improvements for Xbox consoles and PC. Those notes describe the update’s fixes; they do not establish that a particular player’s device will perform better.

Halo Waypoint highlighted Valentine-themed emblems and returning Exchange items, along with an ODST-themed Shop bundle. It also credited Halo Gear as the source of Zeta Sky armor and weapon coating designs. These were launch-era cosmetic announcements, not confirmation of today’s inventory.
