A Halo Infinite map-loading stall is a symptom, not one confirmed universal bug. The right next step depends on whether you are entering a multiplayer match, loading Campaign, opening a Forge session, or stuck in a menu. Note your platform, mode, loading stage, and any error message, then follow the matching branch below.
First, identify where loading stops
Record whether you are on Xbox or PC; on PC, note whether you launch through Steam or the Xbox app/Microsoft Store. Also note the mode or map, whether loading shows a percentage such as “Loading Map… 0%,” and whether the game is frozen, still responsive, or displaying an error.
- Multiplayer matchmaking: Check connection and service status first, especially if Halo also shows Offline, Transitioning, or “Multiplayer is Unavailable.”
- Campaign: Match the stall to the event that preceded it, such as fast travel while dead.
- Forge: Check whether the issue is a crash tied to a particular map or action, rather than a general matchmaking stall.
- Menu or general loading: If Battle Pass or menu content also fails to load, that may point to a service or connectivity issue.
These distinctions matter: Halo Support’s documented workarounds apply to particular triggers and should not be treated as fixes for every loading stall.
If multiplayer is stuck loading a match
Check for service or connection symptoms
Look for current Halo service updates and note whether the game reports “Multiplayer Is Unavailable,” cannot connect to the Lobby Service, or shows Offline or Transitioning. Halo Support says outages may also originate with Xbox or Steam services. Check the applicable official home-network troubleshooting guidance; if your connection works but Halo still cannot connect, submit a Halo Support ticket with the exact error. Halo Support posts outage updates on X. Service status can change, so check current updates rather than assuming an old report is still active. Halo Support’s multiplayer known-issues page lists these service indicators and troubleshooting direction.

On Xbox, close and relaunch after Quick Resume or Instant-on
Halo Support documents a “Multiplayer is Unavailable” issue after launching through Xbox Instant-on or Quick Resume. Its workaround is to fully close Halo Infinite and launch it again. On Xbox One, if matchmaking or Custom Games fails after you enter gameplay quickly, let the main-menu content finish loading before starting gameplay; Halo Support says this can reduce the issue. These steps address those Xbox scenarios, not every map-loading problem.
If Campaign is stuck on an endless loading screen
After fast traveling while dead
Halo Support documents an endless loading screen after fast traveling while dead. For that specific case, close the game and reload the save from the main menu. The Campaign Known Issues page lists this workaround.

Protect your Campaign save when closing the game
When possible, do not force-close Halo Infinite during active Campaign gameplay. Halo Support warns that closing through outside methods, such as Task Manager on PC or powering off the PC or console, can overwrite or corrupt progress. Return to the main menu using the pause menu before closing the game.
Network Co-Op after the Spire boss fight
The Campaign Known Issues page also describes a Network Co-Op stall or stuck-in-place condition after the Spire boss fight when players skip the cutscene during Mission Replay. The page does not list a separate workaround for this scenario, so do not assume the fast-travel recovery applies.

If a Forge session crashes while loading
Halo Support’s multiplayer known-issues page, updated November 18, 2025, lists two specific PC Forge cases. They are crashes with defined triggers, not evidence of a general fix for “Loading Map” matchmaking stalls.

The same support article notes poor performance from older AMD GPU drivers and says Windows background recording features may affect performance. Those notes concern performance and do not establish a universal remedy for a map that remains at 0%. For installation, update, driver, or file-corruption symptoms, use the relevant links in the Halo Support index, including its game installation and update instructions, PC hardware specifications and drivers, and PC file-corruption guidance.

When to contact Halo Support
If the documented cases do not match your symptom, or it continues after the relevant steps, send Halo Support enough detail to distinguish a network transition from a mode-specific crash:
- Platform and, on PC, storefront or launcher.
- Mode and map, plus what you were doing immediately before the stall.
- Exact loading percentage or status, and the complete error text if one appears.
- Whether other online functions, menus, or modes work.
- Steps already tried and what happened after each one.
For network symptoms, check service updates and the applicable home-network guidance before escalating. Halo Support’s multiplayer and Campaign known-issue pages were updated on different dates—the multiplayer page on November 18, 2025, and the Campaign page on June 10, 2025 (version 1.11.0.1)—so consult the current pages for any later changes.
