Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home Special Edition launched on October 30, 2025, and is already available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, according to publisher Natsume. Steam lists October 29, 2025, on its own store page, a one-day difference from the publisher’s date. The game returns players to Alba Village for farming, relationships, festivals, and a community-rebuilding story.
What is Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home Special Edition?
It is a farming and life-simulation game about returning to Alba Village, the protagonist’s childhood hometown. The village is losing residents and its population is aging. Players grow crops, reconnect with residents, build relationships, take part in events, and help attract new residents and visitors. Nintendo’s listing also highlights fishing, homegrown vegetables, horse racing, fishing tournaments, and flower festivals. Nintendo’s US listing and Nintendo UK’s listing describe the village and activities.
What does the Special Edition add?
Natsume announced three headline additions: Doc Jr.’s Hoverbike 5000, two new marriage candidates, and additional cutscenes. In its launch announcement, the publisher says Doc Jr. becomes a permanent resident and identifies Ella and Nikolai—familiar characters from Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos—as marriage candidates. Nintendo also names Ella and Nikolai in its game description. Natsume’s announcement and launch release outline the additions.
Platforms and release dates
Natsume’s October 30, 2025 launch announcement lists Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Nintendo’s US listing gives October 30 for Switch and says the game is compatible with Switch 2, with consistent behavior. Steam’s store page lists October 29, 2025; that platform-specific date differs by one day from Natsume’s announcement, so check the relevant store listing for its date and availability.

What to know before buying
Store prices and retail stock can change. Natsume’s October 30, 2025 launch announcement said the game was available for $39.99 USD at the Natsume Store, Amazon, and GameStop, and digitally on the named platforms; that is a launch-time statement, not confirmation of today’s price, stock, or physical format. The US PlayStation Store page displayed a $23.99 offer against a $39.99 original price, with the offer set to end October 8, 2026 at 06:59 UTC. Check the live listing for current terms.
The Welcome Care Package is not a current bonus. Natsume’s September 25, 2025 preorder announcement described it as 3,000 starting money plus 10 each of turnip, onion, cabbage, daisy, and marguerite seeds. The launch release said Steam buyers before November 20, 2025 received the same package as an early-purchase bonus; both offers have expired.
