Capcom’s reported definition of a deluxe remaster was “remasters with improved playability and updated graphics (including new 3D models).” That wording describes a category in the survey; it does not establish specifications for a Dead Rising 2 product.
What has Capcom said about making one?
In a 2024 interview with Inverse, producer Kei Morimoto said remaking or remastering Dead Rising 2 was “definitely possible,” but added that Capcom was monitoring market trends and the performance of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. He said the company might consider a project if it identified an appropriate time to sell one. That is a conditional possibility, not a statement that work has started.

Morimoto also told Destructoid that Capcom looks for opportunities to reactivate its owned series and that the 2024 remaster fit that strategy. He said a strong performance could open up possibilities for the series, without confirming any particular follow-up.

No. Capcom Singapore reports 18 million units for the Dead Rising series as a whole, as of March 31, 2025. It is not a sales total for Dead Rising 2 alone. Capcom’s franchise page is the source for that dated, series-wide figure.
