Then check mods, updates, connected devices, and which GPU the game is using. If the crash persists, send Landfall a fresh player log and the steps that reproduce it. A crash report alone does not identify a single cause.
Try the quickest checks first
Verify Haste’s files, then restart

In Steam, open Library, right-click Haste, and select Properties.

Choose Installed files, then Verify integrity of game files.

When Steam finishes, restart your PC and try launching Haste again.

Verification checks the installed game files; it is a low-risk first step recommended in Landfall’s troubleshooting guide.
Test a frame-rate limit or V-Sync
Landfall notes that some games can run at unlimited FPS and recommends trying an FPS cap and V-Sync in applicable cases. Treat this as a diagnostic test, not proof that unlimited frame rates cause Haste crashes. If you can reach the game’s settings, enable V-Sync or reduce the frame-rate limit, then see whether the crash returns.
Check mods, updates, devices, and graphics settings
Remove mod files if you use mods
If you have installed mods, remove their files from Haste’s installation folder before testing again. Landfall warns that deactivating Steam Workshop mods alone may not remove every mod file. Keep a backup of anything you may want to restore, and avoid deleting files unless you can identify them as mod-related.

Update Steam, your graphics driver, and Windows
Install available updates for Steam, Windows, and your graphics driver. Get the driver from the appropriate manufacturer—NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel—and restart the PC after installation if prompted. These are general troubleshooting steps, not a diagnosis of a particular Haste crash.
Disconnect peripherals for one test
Temporarily unplug controllers, joysticks, racing wheels, pedals, and other nonessential peripherals, then launch the game. If Haste stops crashing, reconnect devices one at a time to identify whether a particular device or its software is involved.
Make sure a laptop uses its dedicated GPU
On a laptop with switchable graphics, open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics, select Haste, choose Options, and set it to High performance if that option is available. Also check the laptop’s power mode. Menu labels can vary by Windows version and device.

Compare your PC with Haste’s listed requirements
Steam lists these Windows specifications for Haste. They are compatibility reference points, not evidence that a below-spec component is the cause of a particular crash.

Check your actual processor, memory, and graphics hardware before drawing conclusions. The requirements do not establish that you need an upgrade, and they do not identify the cause of a crash. See Steam’s Haste technical support and system requirements page.
Escalate persistent crashes with a player log
If the steps above do not help, reproduce the crash first so the log captures the issue. Landfall’s FAQ gives this route to the log:

appdata, and press Enter. -
Open
LocalLowLandfallHaste. -
Find the file named
Player(also referred to asPlayer.log). -
Email it to [email protected] with a short description of what happened and the exact steps that trigger the crash. Include a screenshot or video if it clarifies the problem.
A developer has also provided the full Windows path as %USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalLowLandfallHastePlayer.log in a Steam discussion about random crashes. Landfall’s Haste FAQ describes the support route and log collection.

Use security and administrator checks cautiously
Landfall’s general guide also mentions checking antivirus interference and administrator privileges. If you reach this stage, follow the guide’s directions and make any security change only as a temporary diagnostic test. Do not leave antivirus protection disabled; restore it immediately after testing.

Past patch notes show that developers have addressed specific crash-related problems, but they cannot establish the cause of a new crash on your PC.

9 October 2025, Patch 1.7.d: The notes said an update had made crashes more frequent for some players, described a fix for an irregular crash affecting Windows players, and mentioned orphaned “rumble instances” as one possible crash source. The post also asked affected players to send

23 June 2026, Patch 1.11.C: The announcement lists fixes involving Endless saves and other gameplay or UI issues, but does not list a general Windows crash fix. Read the Patch 1.11.C announcement.
Players have described symptoms such as a black screen after selecting Continue, while another discussion is titled “Game Crashing on Start.” Those reports illustrate different failure patterns, not a shared diagnosis. Note when your crash happens—on startup, during play, or after a particular action—when contacting support. See the startup-crash discussion.
