Hatsune Miku’s Magic: The Gathering collaboration began with four seasonal Secret Lair drops in 2024, ending with Winter Diva in February 2025. Wizards later announced a separate, ready-to-play Miku Commander deck in August 2026. Its 24-hour order window has passed, though Wizards listed additional regional shipments for 2027.
What is the Hatsune Miku Secret Lair?
Secret Lair is the name Wizards of the Coast uses for limited-run Magic releases featuring distinctive card art and treatments. The Miku collaboration brought the virtual singer and related characters onto Magic cards, sometimes with character-specific names alongside the cards’ Magic identities. The 2024 announcement described four seasonal drops across that year; the fourth, Winter Diva, was billed as the farewell installment.
Wizards describes Hatsune Miku as music software developed by Crypton Future Media, Inc., which lets users create a computer-sung performance by entering lyrics and melodies. It says user-created works shared online helped Miku grow into a cultural phenomenon, followed by merchandising and virtual-singer performances. The 2024 announcement also identified Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO, and KAITO as other virtual singers developed by Crypton Future Media. Wizards wrote on April 30, 2024, that Miku had been thrilling fans with digital performances “for seventeen years”; that is a statement from the announcement date, not a current age calculation. Wizards’ April 30, 2024 announcement also said Magic had more than 50 million fans and was published in more than 150 countries—figures attributable to Wizards at that time, not newly measured statistics.

How is the 2026 Commander deck different?
The later product is a complete 100-card Commander deck, not another small alternate-art drop. Wizards announced it on August 4, 2026, at a listed price of $149.99 USD. It is a green-white creature strategy built around gaining life and developing a larger board, led by Trostani, Selesnya’s Voice presented as “Miku, Song of the People.”
The announced contents include 100 cards for the playable deck, 10 double-sided tokens, a display commander, and a deck box. Wizards lists 12 foil borderless cards featuring new art, seven foil borderless basic Plains, seven foil borderless basic Forests, and 74 non-foil reprints. The display commander is not legal in sanctioned play and is not an extra card in the playable 100.

Wizards says the tokens support the deck’s creature and life-gain plan, citing Phyrexian Minions for Phyrexian Processor, Angels for Resplendent Angel, and Horses for Crested Sunmare. It describes 14 new borderless art treatments across the deck and highlights Japanese artists KEI, 八三/HASSAN, and さいとうなおき/NAOKI SAITO. The complete list and product details are in Wizards’ August 4, 2026 deck announcement.

The announced 24-hour order window ran from August 10, 2026, at 9 a.m. PT through August 11 at 8:59 a.m. PT, so that window has passed.
