Current general aim-assist values have not been verified in the official patch notes reviewed as of October 8, 2026.
What the “legal aimbot” settings were
The phrase came from an April 27, 2025 Reddit post about controller settings. The anonymous author, u/KIw3II, suggested experimenting with an aim-assist window size around 20, strength around 90 and ease-in at 0. The post also discussed disabling aim assist at max deadzone and adjusting horizontal max deadzone boost to make full turns more comfortable. Read the Reddit post and discussion.
The author described the idea as making the game’s built-in tools work for the player, writing: “It’s not literal ‘Aimbot’, but why not set the tools available to work for you instead of against you?” In this context, “legal aimbot” is figurative community shorthand for adjusting in-game aim-assist options—not an allegation that players are using external cheat software.
Why you should not copy those numbers as current settings
In a July 2025 edit to the post, its author said updates to Rivals’ aim settings had made the information outdated, including the introduction of a new aiming curve. That is the author’s account of the change, not an official patch description.

Recent official patch notes do not establish replacement values for general controller aim assist. The Version 20261009 notes, published October 6, 2026, schedule an update for October 9 at 09:00 UTC and mention a custom targeting-sensitivity setting for Gorr’s Shadow Harvest. That hero-specific setting is not a statement of global controller aim-assist values. The Version 20261001 notes, published September 30, 2026, likewise do not supply general aim-assist values. So, as of October 8, 2026, the April 2025 numbers should be treated as outdated, and current general values remain unverified.
What players reported—and what that can tell you
Reactions in the Reddit thread vary: some commenters said they noticed an improvement, while others reported no difference or said the settings felt worse. These are individual impressions, not controlled tests or evidence that the settings produce a universal aim advantage.

The discussion also raises whether a setup feels different for projectile and hitscan attacks, and for heroes such as Hawkeye. It does not establish that one type benefits more. Aim-assist behavior is something to assess in your own matches, rather than infer from a single set of old values.
How to experiment without treating the old setup as a preset
If you play on controller, use the current in-game settings available to you and change them deliberately. The original Reddit discussion reported this route: Settings → Controller → Combat → Stick → Advanced. Because the author later marked the advice outdated, this is a route reported in 2025—not a verified current menu path.

- Start from your current settings. Note or capture your existing values so you can restore them if a change feels worse.
- Change one option at a time. The old post mentioned window size, strength, ease-in and deadzone-related controls, but its values are not validated for the current game. Avoid changing several controls at once if you want to tell which one affects your feel.
- Pay attention to when aim assist engages. Notice whether it seems to activate too early or too late for your preferred distance and attack style.
- Test target selection in crowded fights. When opponents cluster, observe whether the behavior helps you stay on the intended target or pulls your aim elsewhere.
- Check turning comfort as well as aim feel. The original post mentioned horizontal max deadzone boost in connection with making full turns more comfortable; assess turn speed and control alongside target tracking.
- Keep what works for you. Player replies emphasize preference and character dependence. Treat your own in-game experience as a personal setting choice, not proof of a best setup for a hero or attack type.
Who this advice applies to
This is controller-specific discussion. Marvel Rivals’ official site lists PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Windows versions; the Reddit post is framed around console players and controller aim settings.
