Wishing Stars and Moonlight Crystals are separate Heartopia currencies with different documented spending contexts. Wishing Stars are associated with event rewards and cosmetic-style purchases; Moonlight Crystals are used for certain premium items and limited event offers. Neither currency’s shop inventory or earning routes should be assumed permanent, so check the live in-game screens before spending.
What are Wishing Stars used for?
Heartopia’s official announcements show Wishing Stars as rewards from festival catalog challenges and collection rewards. A September 23, 2026 maintenance notice also offered 10 Wishing Stars as mailbox compensation, claimable before the deadline stated in that notice. These are examples of dated rewards, not a guaranteed ongoing income rate. Heartopia’s official announcements
A community guide describes Wishing Stars as a free currency for cosmetic-style purchases such as furniture, clothing, hairstyles, and recipes. Treat those categories as guide descriptions rather than a permanent catalog: availability and prices may change. Heartopia Guide’s currency overview, dated August 22, 2026
What are Moonlight Crystals used for?
Official announcements document a specific limited-time use: during the Heartopia × New Legend of Madame White Snake event, scheduled for September 30, 2026, at 6:00 AM through October 26, 2026, at 5:59 AM server time, players could spend Moonlight Crystals on limited Oil-Paper Umbrellas. This is an event-specific example, not evidence that the umbrellas remain available after the event. Official Heartopia event and maintenance notices

Community guides describe Moonlight Crystals as a premium-store currency associated with premium items, upgrades, event tiers, and some banners. One guide advises prioritizing inventory expansion and quality-of-life upgrades ahead of optional banner spending. That is community advice, not an official spending rule; check the current game interface to see which items and systems accept crystals. Heartopia Guide and Heartopia.guide’s currencies guide, dated January 28, 2026
How do the currencies differ?
| Decision | Wishing Stars | Moonlight Crystals |

A January 2026 community guide says Moonlight Crystals may come from exchanging Heart Diamonds and sometimes from codes or events. It cautions that a commonly listed exchange rate can change, so use the current in-game store as the authority. This does not establish a direct exchange between Wishing Stars and Moonlight Crystals; a possible Heart Diamonds conversion is a different route. Heartopia.guide’s currencies guide

What should you check before spending?
- Open the current shop or event interface and confirm the item is available and which currency it accepts.
- Check event start and end times in server time; an item shown in a dated announcement may no longer be obtainable.
- Verify the displayed price and any exchange rate in-game rather than relying on older guide figures.
- For Moonlight Crystals, decide whether a functional upgrade is more valuable to you than an optional limited item or banner.
