Upgrade their levels and equipment as needed, then adjust formation when a stage stops you. The game calls its characters Servants; “heroes” is a familiar shorthand, but Servant is the in-game term.
How teams and Servant roles work
Heir of Light: Eclipse is an idle RPG built around five-versus-five battles. Its official Google Play listing describes multiple factions, PvE and PvP modes, guild dungeons, and idle rewards. Battles are automated, so team composition and formation are important choices you make before or during a fight.

The BlueStacks beginner guide groups Servants into five broad roles:
- Warrior: a frontline all-rounder.
- Tank: absorbs enemy damage.
- Ranger and Mage: deal damage from the backline.
- Support: helps the team survive or function more effectively.
For an early team, aim for a frontline that can take hits, damage dealers, and support that helps your lineup last. There is no universally best five-Servant roster: what you own, the enemy lineup, and current balance all matter. The publisher’s June 2024 whitepaper also emphasizes that Servants have different tactics and that team synergy matters.
#1 Best Overall
A mixed team is a reasonable starting point. As you reach harder Adventure content, faction-specific teams and faction bonuses may become more relevant, according to the BlueStacks guide. Treat that as a reason to adapt—not as a rule to discard every useful Servant outside one faction.
A practical early progression loop
Progression combines story clears, idle income, Servant leveling, breakthroughs, and equipment. A useful routine is to advance until you hit resistance, collect the resources that have accumulated, improve your core team, and try again with a better formation or matchup.
- Push the main story. Chapter stories are five-on-five stage battles, according to the publisher’s whitepaper. Clearing stages introduces core systems and opens further content.
- Claim idle rewards and check missions. The official listing confirms that the game farms rewards while idle. Daily and weekly missions can add useful routine rewards; their exact tasks can change, so use the current in-game mission screen rather than relying on an old checklist.
- Focus resources on a small core. Servant XP and Gold are used for leveling, while level gates require breakthroughs using XP, Gold, and Aran Glyphs. Breakthroughs unlock or improve abilities. Follow the current in-game prompts for requirements, since exact costs and thresholds may change.
- Equip gear that suits each role. Quick Equip is a convenient starting point. If selecting items manually, compare their stats and match them to what that Servant does for the team.
- Revisit formation when progress stalls. Before spending heavily, try moving Servants to change who takes enemy attacks or which opponents your team can handle. The whitepaper specifically describes position changes as a countermeasure in Abaddon.
What to do when a stage stops you
A failed attempt can mean your team needs more power, but it can also reveal a matchup problem. Use a short diagnostic rather than upgrading every Servant indiscriminately:
- Your frontline falls quickly: check whether a Tank or sturdier Warrior is positioned to take pressure, and whether Support is helping the team last.
- The enemy survives too long: review your damage lineup and whether your backline can keep attacking.
- A particular enemy disrupts the fight: change positions and test another arrangement before assuming you need a different roster.
- Your main Servants are at a level gate: gather the listed breakthrough materials and use the in-game requirement display to plan the next upgrade.
- You lack upgrade resources: claim idle rewards, complete available missions, and try side modes that are open to your account.
Automated combat means formation and Servant ultimates are among the player’s strategic levers, as the BlueStacks beginner guide explains. A sensible next move is to change one or two things at a time so you can tell whether the new formation or upgrade helped.
How the main modes fit into progression
Different modes offer different challenges and rewards; they are options to use as your account unlocks them, not a single mandatory sequence.
| Mode | What it offers | How to approach it |
|---|---|---|
| Chapter stories | Five-on-five stages that advance the story and core progression. | Make this your main early progression route; revisit a stage after improving your team. |
| Expedition Record | Side stories that award special gear on completion, according to the publisher’s whitepaper. | Play when available, especially if its rewards can help your current lineup. |
| Abaddon | A floor-based challenge that increases in difficulty. | Expect to adjust your formation as opponents change. |
| Corrupted Waterway | A challenge with selectable difficulty; the whitepaper says higher difficulty can yield more upgrade loot. | Choose a setting your current team can handle rather than assuming the highest option is best. |
| PvP and guild dungeons | Additional competitive and cooperative activities listed by the official store page and whitepaper. | Explore them as they become available; their value and difficulty depend on your account and mode access. |
Gear, faction strengthening, and awakening
Equipment adds stats, but there is no single gear set or stat priority established here as optimal for every Servant. Use Quick Equip to get started, then inspect equipment and choose pieces that fit the Servant’s role when you want more control.
Faction strengthening and equipment awakening are more layered systems than basic leveling. In an announcement dated 13 August 2024, Com2uS Holdings described a feature that consumes Epic-or-higher Servants to raise a faction level and strengthen Servants in that faction together. The announcement also described T4 equipment upgraded from T3. Check the current interface and costs, and read the confirmation carefully before consuming a duplicate or valuable Servant.
A 11 November 2024 update report described equipment awakening for Mythic-or-higher Servants: equipped T3 gear could be awakened up to five levels and T4 gear up to ten, using Awakening Stones available through in-game shops. It also reported additional amulet gem slots. These are historical update details, not guaranteed current caps; check the client’s current help and equipment screen before investing on that basis.

The BlueStacks beginner guide describes Servant XP as a leveling resource obtainable through idle rewards, quests, story clears, and other sources; Gold as a resource used to enhance Servants and equipment; and Karat as premium currency used for summons. These descriptions may not cover every later system, so the in-game currency descriptions are the best guide to current uses.
The Google Play listing identifies in-app purchases, including random items. That does not establish that a beginner must spend to progress. Com2uS’s Special Shop and Ruby guide says Ruby packs bought directly do not grant VIP EXP, while spending Rubies on in-game offers does. Consider purchases optional and check the live offer details before buying.
Which Servants should you build?
Build a usable five-person core around the Servants you have, rather than following a fixed tier list or spending resources to chase a supposed universal best pick. Balance frontline durability, damage, and support, then adjust for the stage or mode. The evidence available for this guide does not establish a reliable current meta ranking or current summon odds, so treat roster advice as role-based rather than a promise that a particular lineup is strongest.
Quick Recap
The live Google Play listing showed an update date of 15 May 2026 and content notes including Raven’s Treasure Vault, Transcendent Servant Laurencia, an expanded Training Grounds level, and new Special Packs. Those notes are not a substitute for checking in-game notices for current events, banners, balance changes, or gear caps.
