Where Love Thy Neighbor begins
The deed takes place in Jova, in the Acasa Marshes. Its key item is beneath an oak tree with hanging bodies on a hill near the Timeloop, east of Jova. One route description places the tree north of the Timeloop’s black dome; map approaches can make the directions sound different, so use the Timeloop and Jova as landmarks.

Sources differ on whether the deed formally activates when you speak with Halie or when you collect the plushie. To cover both possibilities, speak with Halie when you first encounter her, then pick up the Bloodied Plushie beneath the tree.
How to complete the item chain
- Pick up the Bloodied Plushie. Search beneath the hanging tree on the hill near the Timeloop, east of Jova.
- Take it to the Drunk Man. Return to Jova and enter the house in the village’s southwestern part. Guides identify it as a brown house with Sabinian Family Tree graffiti and a nearby save point. Give the Drunk Man the Bloodied Plushie; he exchanges it for a Classroom Picture.
- Deliver the Classroom Picture. Head back toward the APC and Blacksmith’s Shop, then find the house near Abbot Jaffer. Give the woman inside the picture to complete the Good Deed. Walkthroughs identify her as Halie.
Complete the deed before Captain Vaas leaves
Love Thy Neighbor is missable. The safest deadline is before Captain Vaas leaves for the Abbey. Some guides describe the wider cutoff as the end of Act 1, associated with placing the first Keystone in the Lymbic Forge, but waiting for that later milestone risks losing the opportunity. Finish the item chain while Vaas is still in Jova.

Claim the Good Deed reward
After delivering the picture, return to Gildas Brom at Watcher’s Nest (also called Watcher’s Rest in some coverage) and claim the Pendant of Grief – Acceptance. It is listed as defensive gear. Gamer Guides also mentions an optional Old Vigil scene, but that is not required for the item chain described here.
