The Reddit post, titled “Eagle 1 Can Directly Impact Helldivers and Fly Swat Them,” is marked HUMOR. Its author says they used a movement glitch or technique to get airborne, then reports that Eagle-1 hit them and produced a hit marker. The post and clip are available on Reddit.

That account supports a narrow conclusion: one player says they were hit while airborne in the clip. It does not independently establish how the interaction works or whether the clip captures a normal gameplay situation.
Does this prove Eagle-1 can hit players in midair?
Not as a general rule. The clip appears consistent with a collision, but the available evidence does not verify the cause, how often it happens, or whether it still occurs in the current version of the game.

Commenters discuss Eagle-1 having collision or a hitbox, and some speculate that the event may relate to damage from enemy fire. Those are community theories, not developer explanations or controlled tests.
