Look for Bile Spewers first on Terminid Launch ICBM missions; they are reported to appear there almost always. Retrieve Valuable Data, Terminid Blitz Search and Destroy, and Eradicate Terminid Swarm missions may also spawn them, but no mission type guarantees an encounter. Once you spot one, target its head rather than pouring ordinary ballistic fire into its durable abdomen.
Where to find Bile Spewers
The Helldivers Wiki’s spawn guidance lists Terminid Launch ICBM missions as the most reliable place to encounter Bile Spewers, and also names Retrieve Valuable Data, Terminid Blitz Search and Destroy, and Eradicate Terminid Swarm missions as possible spawn contexts. These are reported tendencies, not a promise that every operation will include them. The available guidance does not establish that you can see an operation’s enemy roster before deployment.

Tell Bile Spewers and Nursing Spewers apart
Nursing Spewers are a distinct variant, not simply another name for Bile Spewers. The Helldivers Wiki describes Nursing Spewers as light-armored and identifies the head as their weak point. Do not assume the standard Bile Spewer’s armor profile applies to both variants.
Where to aim and what to use

These are target-and-damage recommendations, not a controlled comparison of specific named loadouts. The right choice depends on which weapons your squad brought and whether the spewer is exposed or already attacking.

How to handle the encounter
- Keep space between you and the spewer. Its bile attack makes closing distance risky; avoid standing in the attack’s path.
- Prioritize the head. Use medium penetration against a Bile Spewer’s head on Extreme and above. Otherwise, aim for the head or its unarmored mouth when you have a clear shot.
- Switch damage type for the abdomen. If you must target the abdomen, use explosive or plasma damage rather than relying on ordinary ballistic fire.
- Interrupt an attack when possible. Stagger-capable weapons can stop a spewing attack, buying the squad time to reposition or finish the enemy.
- Focus fire if several appear. Coordinate on one target at a time rather than letting multiple spewers pressure the squad from different angles.
What the patch notes establish
Arrowhead Game Studios’ patch 01.001.104 reports that Bile Spewer leg health was reduced from 300 to 200. This is a change to leg health, not the enemy’s total health, and the patch note is not a complete current stat sheet. Earlier, patch 01.000.200 said bile attacks from both Bile and Nursing Spewers were adjusted to do less damage. Those notes document historical balance changes; they do not establish every live value or guarantee that later updates have not changed behavior.
