What is Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust?
Into the Unjust is a Helldivers 2 update centered on Hive Worlds and a deeper push into Terminid territory. Arrowhead announced the September 2, 2025 launch in its official PlayStation Blog preview. The detailed PATCH 01.004.000 notes are dated October 23, 2025, so that page date is not the launch date.

Arrowhead described the update as arriving for free. It is not presented as a separately required paid expansion.
What are Hive Worlds like?
Hive Worlds are built around randomly generated giant cave systems. Their terrain and hazards change the way a mission unfolds: caves can be explored through openings in the surface, while destructible walls let players alter routes through the underground network. Surface features include acid lakes and advanced bug spires.

Cave-roof holes provide openings through which stratagems can be called down. Arrowhead’s patch notes offer one practical instruction for entering the new environment: “Bring a flashlight!”
What missions did the update add?
The official notes describe several objectives associated with Hive Worlds:
- Destroy the Spore Lung: Delve into caves to destroy the structure and stop the Gloom from spreading.
- Operate the GATER mobile oil rig: Take control of the rig and siphon an unidentified oily substance from the planet’s surface. In the pre-launch PlayStation preview, Arrowhead community manager Katherine Baskin described escorting the rig as one of the new challenges; the preview says it travels across the terrain to another drill site.
- Extract resources and clear threats: The notes also list additional missions to gather resources and destroy threats.
Which new Terminid enemies are in Into the Unjust?
Arrowhead’s PATCH 01.004.000 notes name four new enemies. Their descriptions point to different threats, from burrowing attackers to an airborne acid-sprayer.
Rupture Spewer
This enemy bursts out of the ground and sprays corrosive acid. Arrowhead’s notes say it is believed to consume its own dead to generate more acid.

Rupture Warrior
A Gloom-induced mutation that has lost its UV-insulating chitin layer. The notes say captured specimens prefer burrowing.

Rupture Charger
An armored Charger variant that tunnels underground before emerging to attack.
Dragonroach
The Dragonroach circles its prey, swoops down and sprays air-combustible acid. Arrowhead presents this creature with satirical in-universe wording in the patch notes; its concrete attack description is the useful detail for identifying the threat.

The figures below are values stated in Arrowhead’s October 23, 2025 patch notes. They document what that patch changed, not independently verified live-game values in October 2026.
Non-explosive orbital projectiles
Arrowhead said it unified “none explosive Orbitals” so they use the same projectile damage and destruction values as Orbital Gas. The notes give these before-and-after values for two examples:

Stun explosions and stagger
Stun explosions were changed to apply stun on the explosion itself rather than only through the status-effect volume. The notes also say an explosion initially staggers stunned enemies without ragdolling a player hit by it. Arrowhead increased stagger strength for the Stun Grenade, Orbital EMS, Mortar EMS and Stun Hellpod, and decreased stagger impulse for several listed items.

What fixes did the patch list?
The patch notes cover a range of fixes rather than only new content and balance changes. Representative categories include:
- Crash fixes related to hot-joining and dropping backpacks.
- Fixes for several weapons and stratagems.
- Fixes for mission objectives.
- Visual and movement fixes.
That is a summary of the kinds of fixes listed, not a ranking of their impact or an exhaustive account of every change.

Is PATCH 01.004.000 the latest Helldivers 2 update?
No. PATCH 01.004.000 is the update record for the September 2025 Into the Unjust launch, not the newest update as of October 8, 2026. Arrowhead’s patch index lists later patches, including Into the Unjust 6.0.1. The 01.004.000 balance numbers above should therefore be read as historical patch-note values, not as confirmation of the game’s current settings.
