The Warbond described as delayed “indefinitely” was Redacted Regiment, a stealth-themed Premium Warbond first announced for January 20, 2026. Arrowhead said a problem found in final testing had delayed it; three days later, the studio set a new release date of January 22. That January delay was resolved quickly. A separate Warbond on the June roadmap was also delayed, but its identity and eventual status are not established by the available announcements.
What happened to Redacted Regiment?
Arrowhead community manager Katherine Baskin announced Redacted Regiment on January 13, 2026, with a planned January 20 release. The Warbond was presented as stealth-themed gear for Helldivers 2. GamesRadar reported on January 16 that Arrowhead had delayed it after finding a release-blocking issue in final testing; no replacement date had been provided at that point.

Arrowhead’s stated reason was that the issue did not meet its release standards. It did not publicly identify the technical problem. On January 19, PC Gamer reported that the issue had been resolved and that Redacted Regiment was scheduled for January 22. In this case, “indefinitely” meant there was no new date when the delay was announced—not that the Warbond remained without a date.
There was a second, separate Warbond delay in June
On June 23, Arrowhead said the last Warbond listed on its June roadmap “needs more time to cook” and said it would share more information as development neared completion. PC Gamer’s report did not name that Warbond or provide a new date.

Arrowhead later announced Ironclad Democracy for September 22. But the September 15 announcement on PlayStation.Blog does not say whether Ironclad Democracy was the June roadmap item, a revision of it, or a different Warbond. The announcement establishes a planned September 22 date, not independent confirmation that the release occurred.

What Warbonds mean for players
Warbonds are in-game unlocks, not a separate game purchase. Arrowhead’s Warbond information page says players need the base game, Super Credits, and game progression to access them. The Legendary Warbond tier is distinct and does not follow a fixed schedule, according to Arrowhead’s official game information. Whether to unlock a Warbond is therefore a separate choice from whether to own or play Helldivers 2.

Recent Warbond announcements
After the June delay, the Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond was announced to deploy on August 12. Xbox Wire described its gear as inspired by the Cadian Kasrkin and listed an unlock price of 1,500 Super Credits. Xbox Wire’s announcement covers those details.
The latest dated Warbond announcement in the sources cited here is Ironclad Democracy, announced for September 22, 2026. That date is the announced schedule; it should not be treated as proof of a completed release.
