Alinea Analytics estimated that Helldivers 2 sold 926,000 copies on Xbox in the platform’s first six days, compared with 633,000 on PlayStation in that version’s first six days. That puts the Xbox estimate about 46% higher—but these are third-party estimates for separate launch windows, not official unit counts or a comparison of lifetime sales.
What the first-six-day estimates show

The difference is 293,000 copies, or about 46% more for Xbox using the two reported estimates. That percentage is arithmetic based on Alinea’s figures, not a separate statistic published by the analytics firm.
Why this is not an apples-to-apples sales race
The Xbox launch arrived on August 26, 2025, roughly 18 months after Helldivers 2 debuted on PS5 and PC in February 2024. The comparison is between each platform’s opening six days, in different years and market conditions. It does not establish which platform has more lifetime sales, nor does it compare total audiences or cumulative copies across platforms.
Alinea’s estimate was relayed through reporting rather than an official platform-holder sales disclosure. The cited coverage does not provide the underlying sales dataset or a transparent method for producing the estimates; Windows Central notes that analytics firms generally do not publish their exact estimation methods. Accordingly, treat the figures as attributed third-party estimates, not audited or independently verified unit counts.

What may have helped the Xbox launch
Alinea’s quoted explanation points to pent-up demand among Xbox players who had waited for the game, alongside content that resonated with that audience. Analyst Rhys Elliott also highlighted the Halo ODST-themed content as a timely crossover. These are interpretations of the launch’s performance, not demonstrated causes of the reported estimate.
Sony later described the Xbox release as “doing extremely well,” saying it attracted new Xbox users while increasing engagement among existing PS5 and PC users. That broad assessment supports the view that the release performed well, but Sony’s statement does not confirm Alinea’s platform-specific figures. Windows Central reported Sony’s comments from its Q2 FY2025 report.
