That was a time-limited announcement, not a current offer: PlayStation later brought the items back in a Legendary Warbond on December 18, 2025, with access terms based on players’ earlier purchases.
What Arrowhead announced in December 2024
Arrowhead said the upcoming second half of the Helldivers 2 and Killzone collaboration would be given to all players free of charge. The decision followed player feedback about the pricing of the crossover’s first wave and came during the holiday season. Contemporary coverage described the move as a response to pricing criticism, but did not establish a reliable event-specific measure of how widespread that criticism was.
Arrowhead CCO Johan Pilestedt was quoted at the time as saying: “In the spirit of the holidays, and based on your feedback, we have decided to give away the next half of the Killzone + Helldivers 2 collab away for free for everyone.” PC Gamer reported the statement.
What “available now” meant
The phrase “available now” belongs to coverage of the December 2024 announcement; it does not establish that the giveaway remains open today. The first wave launched on December 18, 2024, and was scheduled to remain available through December 23, according to Eurogamer’s report. The 2024 free second-wave announcement should likewise be understood in its original release context, not as a continuing entitlement for new or returning players.

How the items returned in 2025
PlayStation announced that the crossover items would return as a Legendary Warbond on December 18, 2025. The later offer used different access rules from the 2024 gift:
| Player history | Access announced for the 2025 Legendary Warbond |
|---|---|
| Bought any one original collaboration item | The full Warbond would unlock at no extra cost. |
| Received the gifted items but bought no original item | Unlocking the Warbond would cost 1,500 Super Credits. |
These terms are from PlayStation’s December 18, 2025 announcement. The 1,500 Super Credits figure is the stated in-game currency cost for that Warbond, not a cash price.

Are the Killzone items free now?
Not under the original all-player giveaway terms: those describe the 2024 second-wave announcement, while the later return was a Legendary Warbond with purchase-history-based access. A player who bought at least one original item qualified for the Warbond at no extra cost; a player who only received gifted items was told to spend 1,500 Super Credits to unlock it. The cited announcements do not establish that the Warbond remains available in 2026, so check the in-game Warbond listing for current availability.
