The Genesis Configuration solves several kinds of puzzles in Hellraiser: Revival: it turns environmental mechanisms, reshapes to match statue reliefs, and helps you navigate the labyrinth. But it is not always the first step. Many solutions depend on finding the right item or reading a nearby picture, painting, or plaque before operating the box.
Below are campaign solutions documented by GameSpew’s walkthrough, published October 8, 2026, alongside early puzzle guidance from PlayStation Blog. Some later solutions rely on screenshots for exact visual arrangements, so use the linked walkthrough images where a face-by-face layout or order cannot be described reliably in text.
How the Genesis Configuration works
The Genesis Configuration is both a combat power and an environmental puzzle tool. PlayStation Blog’s pre-release preview shows it turning a large wheel to realign narrow walkways and changing shape to match a statue’s relief after Aidan retrieves a missing statue part. Assistant Game Director Vid Rajin described its central role this way: “We use the Genesis Configuration – a puzzle box – at the centre of things,” as quoted by PlayStation Blog.
For many statue gates, the sequence is: find the missing body part, return it to its gate, interact with the relief, then rotate the box until its shape matches. Other puzzles use nearby environmental clues or require manipulating mechanisms rather than matching a shape.

Early puzzles and clues
Repeating-house sequence
Distorted or crooked photographs and rooms that repeat indicate that the house sequence is looping. Turn around and go back rather than continuing forward; changing direction is the clue to progressing through this sequence. This hint is described in the PlayStation preview and the pre-release puzzle tips.
Chatterer chase
During the chase described in the preview, look for the corridor where Chatterer does not teleport ahead of Aidan. That corridor is the route to take.
Sliding picture lock
Inspect the desk for the diagram before moving the lock’s picture pieces. The diagram is the clue for this particular lock, not a general safe code or a pattern to reuse elsewhere.

Study cabinet picture lock
- Find the picture of flowers on the study desk.
- Rotate the sections of the cabinet lock until the filled triangles sit in the same positions shown in the picture.
- Open the cabinet and take the Marlowe Figurine.
Statue gates and the gas-filled room
Get the Statue’s Hand and Resurrection Key
- Use the winding handle on the gramophone to reveal the Bruno Figurine.
- Place Bruno and Marlowe on the central stand.
- Take the Statue’s Hand and Resurrection Key.
Three-figure painting room
In the gas-filled room, compare the three statues with the large painting. Adjust each statue until its pose matches the corresponding figure in the painting. The opening is behind the painting.
Courtyard hand gate
- Return the Statue’s Hand to the gate where the hand is missing.
- Interact with the glowing relief.
- Rotate the Genesis Configuration until its shape matches the relief, then confirm to open the gate.
Statue head gate
After retrieving the Statue’s Head at the cabin, bring it back to its matching gate and place it. Interact with the relief and rotate the Genesis Configuration to match the pictured shape. The precise face arrangement is shown in the walkthrough image.
Statue tongue gate
Retrieve the Statue’s Tongue and return it to its gate. Then rotate the Genesis Configuration to match the relief shown in the walkthrough. As with the other relief gates, the item must be placed before the box puzzle can be completed.

Picture, block, and wiring puzzles
Well and labyrinth picture
- Collect the three Puzzle Blocks from the playground, boat, and pagoda.
- Insert all three blocks at the well.
- Rotate the four pieces to reconstruct the image shown in GameSpew’s campaign walkthrough.
Follow the walkthrough image for the exact image layout; the written instructions identify the pieces and location but do not specify each piece’s orientation in text.
Fuse box
Connect the cables by matching colors from left to right: red to red, blue to blue, and orange to orange.
Later gold door with Peephole Inset
Rotate the picture pieces until they form an image of a woman, with her head and hair toward the left. The walkthrough’s image provides the visual reference for completing the arrangement.

Ear statue pin mechanism
- Pull the bottom-right pin.
- Pull the top pin.
- Pull the middle-right pin.
- Pull the left pin, then take the Embossed Block.
Embossed Block door
Use the Embossed Block on the lock. Arrange its pieces to match the four artwork clues beside the door, in the order displayed there. This is a visual matching puzzle; the walkthrough does not provide a reliable text-only ordering, so compare the block directly with the nearby artwork.
Bells
Recover the missing Spirit Warding Bell, then place the bells in the order shown on the plaque. GameSpew’s walkthrough includes an image of the correct arrangement; consult it alongside the in-game plaque rather than inferring an order from the bell names.

Move the platform
Use the Genesis Configuration to move the platform while avoiding the spikes. Watch the platform’s route and time your movement so you do not cross into the hazard.

Use the blue wall panels to rotate sections of the room until they form a crossing route through the labyrinth.
Timed door and spiked ceiling
- Move one cube to hold the timed door open.
- Position the second cube so there is room to pass through.
- Use the Genesis Configuration to hold the spiked ceiling up while crossing the floor hazard.
What to do when a shape solution is unclear
- Check for a missing statue part, block, or other required item before trying to solve a gate.
- Inspect nearby paintings, diagrams, plaques, and reliefs; they provide local clues for their own puzzles.
- For solutions described as a picture or shape, use the relevant walkthrough screenshot to confirm orientation. A written description may not convey which face or piece goes where.
The campaign solutions above come from GameSpew’s post-launch walkthrough, while PlayStation Blog’s preview and the Hellraiser Revival Wiki puzzle tips corroborate selected early mechanics and clues. The wiki page covers puzzles demonstrated before release rather than a complete campaign; the cited campaign walkthrough is broader, but these sources do not establish that every optional puzzle or future patch state is covered.
