AI-assisted game mod mashups are putting Minecraft mechanics in Skyrim and GTA V, sending a soldier skateboarding through Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and bringing Mario into Elden Ring. But a striking clip is not automatically a finished mod: some examples have downloadable builds, some require compiling source code, and at least one widely shared crossover had no public release reported as of October 4, 2026.
The wackiest AI-assisted game mashups
These projects mix characters, mechanics, or assets from one game with another. Their release status matters as much as the spectacle: a ready-to-run build, source code that must be built, and a video-only concept are very different things.

These are examples reported in early October 2026, not a guarantee that every release link or compatibility detail remains current. The available reporting describes bugs and limitations, so a clip should not be taken as proof of stable, complete gameplay.
How do you put one game inside another?
There is no single technique behind these mashups. “Inside” may mean a bridge between two running games, selected content ported into a host, or a guest game’s behavior recreated in another runtime. Universal Modder’s documentation describes several broad approaches, but the method for a specific clip should be called unknown unless its creator has documented it.

Run both games and exchange state
In a passthrough setup, both games can run on the same PC while a bridge passes information between them. The visible result may feel like a crossover, but it does not necessarily mean the two complete games have been merged.
Port content or mechanics
A modder can move or adapt selected assets and behavior—such as a character, an object, or a mechanic—into the host game. Adapting content to another game’s systems is different from importing the guest game intact.

Embed or reimplement the guest
Other approaches involve embedding a decompiled game as a library or rewriting its runtime behavior so it can be fused with the host. Those are distinct technical paths; a clip alone usually does not reveal which one was used.
AI assists; people still direct and validate
The documented workflow is not “AI made a whole game by itself.” A person chooses the idea, supplies relevant game files and tools, directs the agent, and checks whether the result works. What to check before trying a mashup
- Release status: Find the creator’s own release page. A viral video may have no downloadable build; the Minecraft-in-Elden-Ring example was reported unreleased in October 2026.
- What is actually provided: Distinguish a ready-made build from source that must be compiled, and both from a video with no public release.
- Requirements: Check platform, host-game version, required original game files, offline-only restrictions, and any control requirements. For the reported Modern Warfare 2 skating setup, the guide specifies a controller for skating mode.
- Scope of the crossover: Look for what is playable, not just what appears in a clip. A character or effect appearing in a scene does not establish that a substantial part of the guest game is playable.
- Compatibility and stability: Match the build to the stated game version and read current maintainer notes. Reported projects have rough edges, and version constraints can prevent a build from working.
Availability and compatibility can change after a report is published. The October 4–5, 2026 coverage and October 4 maintainer-documentation checks are snapshots, not live verification of today’s releases.
