How to interpret the shield’s bonuses
The listed combination points toward a defensive, Retribution-oriented profile: it adds Armor and Life, improves Strength and Resistance through its unique power, and raises Retribution’s chance to deal double damage. Tooltip and version caveat
Blizzard’s Patch 2.6 notes mention a fix for an incorrectly displayed multiplicative value in the Herald of Zakarum tooltip. That documents a tooltip display correction; it does not independently validate every listed affix range or establish the item’s current behavior. For exact values, inspect the item in the current client and consult patch notes relevant to the version you play.

Diablo II also has a separate Paladin unique named Herald of Zakarum, identified as a Gilded Shield. It is a different game item with its own mechanics. Diablo II stats and build recommendations do not describe the Diablo IV shield.
