Summer Game Fest 2025 offered a mix of franchise reveals, sequels and more unusual concepts. These seven picks stand out for their reveal, distinctive premise or meaningful showcase update—not as a measured ranking or a claim about audience consensus. The main showcase took place June 6, followed immediately by Day of the Devs; the wider Summer Game Fest program ran through June 8. The event itself styles its name “Summer Game Fest.”
Seven games worth watching from the 2025 showcases
The selection spans horror, narrative adventure, action RPGs, samurai action, retro adventure and cooperative multiplayer. The first six appeared in coverage of the main showcase; Big Walk was presented in the adjacent Day of the Devs showcase, not the main broadcast. These are historical announcement highlights, not a current release-date or platform guide.

1. Resident Evil: Requiem
Resident Evil: Requiem closed the main show. Its trailer introduced heroine Grace Ashcroft and a return to a devastated Raccoon City, giving the reveal a clear connection to the series’ history. GameSpot’s June 6 recap characterized the entry as a “bold new direction” for the franchise; that is the recap’s description, not a quoted statement from Capcom. Read GameSpot’s showcase recap.
2. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
Hideo Kojima appeared at the showcase and presented a clip from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. In it, Neil, played by Luca Marinelli, speaks with Lucy, played by Alyssa Jung. The appearance made this a notable stop for followers of the first game and its story-driven sequel, without requiring the showcase update to be treated as a full gameplay overview.

5. Onimusha: Way of the Sword
New footage for Capcom’s upcoming samurai action game showed new monsters and rival Sasaki. That offers a useful glimpse of its historical-fantasy action premise and the threats around its swordplay, while leaving release timing unconfirmed by the cited showcase report.
6. Mina the Hollower
The showcase recap reported a Halloween launch announcement for Mina the Hollower and a new Steam demo. Its retro-styled adventure makes it a distinct counterpoint to the larger horror and action franchises on this list. Those details describe the 2025 announcement, not verified current availability; check the game’s present store listing for its release status.

7. Big Walk
Big Walk stood out as a cooperative multiplayer pick in the Day of the Devs presentation, which followed the main showcase. PC Gamer described a wide-open world of challenges and puzzles designed for friends to work together and communicate. That premise makes it the lineup’s clearest social-play option. Summer Game Fest’s main broadcast on June 6 was described as a two-hour presentation of world premieres and updates. Day of the Devs followed immediately, while the wider program continued through June 8. Those boundaries matter: a game shown at an adjacent event can be part of the broader SGF program without appearing in the main broadcast. The official Summer Game Fest site identifies the event, and the Epic Games Store’s 2025 schedule guide places Day of the Devs in the program.
