If Hi-Fi RUSH is running below your expected frame rate, first compare your PC with KRAFTON’s hardware tier for the resolution you actually play at, then try the matching graphics preset and supported upscaling. The 1080p and 4K guides list very different GPU tiers. The remaining steps below are diagnostic checks: KRAFTON’s troubleshooting page is specifically for launch problems, so its driver, GPU-selection, DirectX, and clean-boot advice is not proof that those steps fix FPS drops.
1. Match your PC to the resolution you use
Do not compare a 4K setup with the 1080p minimum. KRAFTON’s guides, both updated November 20, 2025, list 8 GB RAM, 20 GB available storage, Windows 10 64-bit, and DirectX 12 for these graphics tiers. The presets and 60 FPS targets are the publisher’s recommendations, not independent benchmark results or a guarantee that every PC will sustain 60 FPS in every scene.

If your PC is below the appropriate tier, lower the resolution and preset before considering a hardware change.
2. Try these 11 checks in order
1. Lower the resolution or preset
If your current GPU is below the tier for your resolution, reduce the resolution first, then select a lower preset. This is a practical way to bring the workload closer to the published target; it is not a guarantee of a particular frame rate.

2. Use the minimum-tier settings
For both the published 1080p and 4K minimum tiers, KRAFTON pairs the Low preset with TSR Performance or equivalent supported upscaling and a 60 FPS target. Try that combination if your hardware is around the minimum tier. The available upscalers depend on GPU support; KRAFTON lists TSR, NVIDIA DLSS, Intel XeSS, and AMD FSR 1.0 on supported GPUs.
3. Update the graphics driver
KRAFTON includes graphics-driver updates in its PC launch troubleshooting steps. Check your GPU maker’s official software or support page for a driver appropriate to your card. This is a sensible diagnostic check, not a confirmed FPS-drop cure.

4. Check which GPU the game is using
On a PC with more than one graphics adapter, confirm that Hi-Fi RUSH is assigned to the intended high-performance GPU rather than an integrated adapter. KRAFTON’s launch checklist also suggests selecting the primary GPU and setting the power mode to High Performance. Treat these as checks, not an FPS-specific fix.
5. Check DirectX and system requirements
KRAFTON lists DirectX 12 in both requirements guides and recommends installing the latest DirectX in its launch troubleshooting article. Confirm that your system meets the listed requirements, particularly if performance trouble accompanies other graphics or launch issues.

6. Temporarily reduce background conflicts
Background applications can complicate diagnosis. KRAFTON describes Clean Boot Mode as a way to minimize background programs and prevent software conflicts when troubleshooting a game that will not launch. A clean boot is not established as a fix for low FPS; use it only as a diagnostic comparison, and restore your normal startup configuration afterward.
7. Verify game files if there are launch or corruption symptoms
If the game also fails to start, crashes, or appears to have corrupted files, use the file-verification option for the platform where you installed it. KRAFTON’s launch guide links verification instructions for Steam, the Xbox app, and Epic Games. File verification is not presented there as a general FPS fix.

8. Check whether the drop occurs in one specific encounter
If the slowdown happens at the same point every time, note the track and event. Hi-Fi RUSH’s official Update 5 notes, dated July 5, 2023, say: “(Track 09) Addressed an issue where the FPS would lock at 60FPS for the remainder of the Mimosa fight following the guitar-playing musical interlude section.” That was a specific historical issue addressed in the patch, not an explanation for unrelated drops elsewhere.
9. Record details that make the issue reproducible
Before changing several settings at once, note your resolution, preset, GPU and CPU, graphics-driver version, where the slowdown occurs, and whether restarting changes it. These details help distinguish a system-wide performance problem from a repeatable in-game symptom. They are practical diagnostic notes, not a claim about information KRAFTON requests for FPS reports.

10. Check for a bottleneck before buying hardware
Use the resolution-matched table above to see whether your GPU is below KRAFTON’s published tier. A tier comparison alone cannot identify heat-related throttling, background load, or another cause on an individual PC. Consider a graphics-card upgrade for your resolution only after basic checks and only if your current hardware falls short of the relevant tier.
11. Contact official support if the problem persists
If the game also has launch problems, follow KRAFTON’s launch troubleshooting guide; it asks users with unresolved launch issues to contact customer support with system log files and error messages. For an FPS report, describe the symptom and include the performance details you recorded, without assuming that a particular fix is available.
