Hidden City: Hidden Objects is a free-to-play hidden-object adventure set around a mystery involving a detective, Jacob, and the City of Shadows. You explore a 3D city map, unlock locations, complete timed search scenes, follow quests, build collections, meet characters, and participate in events and mini-games.

Can you still play Hidden City on Windows?
Yes. The official downloadable Windows version remains available through G5, and G5’s current published requirement is Windows 10 or later. See G5’s current system-requirements page for the applicable requirement.
G5 says the browser version no longer receives updates, although continued browser access should not be confused with a current, supported browser edition. Players who want ongoing updates should use the downloadable PC version or another supported platform. Browser players can transfer progress, including in-app purchases, by using a G5 Friends account.
Windows requirements and prerequisites
The reviewed G5 pages specify Windows 10 or later but do not publish a complete current table for CPU, RAM, GPU, DirectX, or exact storage space. Do not rely on unofficial sites that invent or infer those numbers.

Installation safety
Do not use cracked, portable, repacked, APK, torrent, or generic software-download versions. If Windows SmartScreen or antivirus software warns about the installer, do not blindly disable security protections. First confirm that the file came through G5’s official download flow. If the warning continues, contact G5 support.
How to transfer browser progress to the Windows version
Create and verify a G5 Friends account in the browser version before moving to the downloadable PC client. This is the route G5 documents for transferring progress and in-app purchases.
Create or verify G5 Friends in the browser version
- Open the Friends icon at the bottom of the main game board.
- Select My Profile at the bottom of the new window.
- Enter the requested account details.
- Confirm your email address using the link sent by G5.
- Check the spam folder if the confirmation email does not arrive.
- Save the login and password securely.
Sign in on the Windows client
- Install and launch the PC version.
- Complete the tutorial.
- Open Friends.
- Choose My Profile.
- Select Change Player.
- Enter the previous G5 Friends login and password.
- Select Sign in.
Do not create a new account and play extensively before deciding which save you want to keep. A new local save can make later account switching confusing. G5 confirms browser-to-PC transfer, but the exact behavior for every combination of mobile accounts, guest progress, multiple saves, or conflicting local and server saves may vary. Contact G5 support before making purchases if the correct save does not appear.

- View the city map.
- Select an unlocked location.
- Enter a timed hidden-object scene.
- Find the listed objects before time expires.
- Earn experience, rewards, and progression items.
- Complete quests and collections.
- Unlock more locations and activities.

Object placement changes between attempts, so memorizing one fixed layout is unreliable. A consistent search pattern is more useful.

Map and locations
The main screen is a 3D city map, with locations unlocking progressively. G5 gives examples including City Hall, the Station of Forgotten Dreams, Crystals, the Emperor’s Palace, Palace of Wishes, and Pharaoh’s Gallery. These are examples rather than a complete or permanently fixed map list.
Difficulty and progression
Difficulty is not presented simply as a conventional difficulty menu. It increases through harder levels, new scene modes, anomalies, time limits, and other obstacles. Progression also includes experience points, quests, collections, assemblers, inventory categories, energy, boosters, avatars, a Residence system, map caches, and daily treasures.
Offline play and internet access
G5 explicitly describes offline play and later synchronization for mobile. The reviewed PC material confirms local installation but does not clearly establish every offline capability or limitation of the current Windows client.

It also lists mini-games such as Magical Items, Excavations, Mahjong, and other event mini-games. Named events are not necessarily active at all times; schedules, rewards, currencies, and availability can change with the game version.

Beginner tips for Windows players
- Search systematically. Scan left to right, top to bottom, or by defined zones. Changing object placement makes memorization less dependable.
- Do not spend tools immediately. Save reveal tools and time extensions for dark locations, anomalies, dense scenes, late-stage attempts, or the final missing item.
- Match tools to problems. Use the Lighter in dark scenes, the Chronometer when time is short, the Compass when objects are dispersed, and the Lunar Lens for difficult zoomed-in areas.
- Protect energy. Energy is a distinct resource, and the support center documents replenishment and unlimited-energy mechanics. Avoid spending all available energy on low-priority attempts if you are waiting for an important quest, event, or location objective.
- Create G5 Friends before switching devices. Verify the account before uninstalling the browser version, changing devices, or beginning a new PC save.
- Learn the core loop first. New players do not need to optimize every event, collection, order, sticker, and mini-game immediately.

Troubleshooting Hidden City on Windows
The installer does not start
- Confirm that the PC is running Windows 10 or later.
- Re-download the installer from G5’s official page.
- Check whether antivirus or Windows Security quarantined the file.
- Run the installer from the local Downloads folder rather than a temporary browser location.

The game launches but cannot connect

My progress is missing
- Stop playing the new local save.
- Confirm that you are using the correct G5 Friends login.
- Open Friends → My Profile → Change Player.
- Sign in with the previous credentials.
- Check whether the correct save loads.
- If multiple saves appear or the wrong save is offered, contact G5 before making purchases or continuing.
The browser version is still accessible, so why is it not updating?
G5 says browser-version updates have been discontinued. Continued access does not mean that the browser edition is the current Windows version. Move to the downloadable PC client if receiving ongoing updates matters to you.

Is Hidden City worth playing on Windows?
It is a good fit for casual hidden-object fans, players who enjoy recurring events and collectible progression, and people who prefer mouse controls and a larger screen.
It is a poor fit for players seeking a self-contained premium game with a fixed ending, anyone unwilling to manage energy timers or optional purchase prompts, people who require fully documented offline Windows play, or users running a Windows version older than Windows 10.
The safest starting point is the official G5 download. Install the current PC client, create or sign in to G5 Friends before switching an established save, and treat purchases as optional conveniences rather than an installation requirement.
