Players have reported several different fetch errors, including “Failed to fetch online resources from the HITMAN server,” “failed to fetch profile information,” and “failed to fetch configuration from the HITMAN server.” These are reported messages, not an established official error taxonomy, and they should not be assumed to share one cause. IO Interactive did document a server-side issue during HITMAN 3’s 2021 launch period. In its technical-support FAQ, reproduced in a community support thread, the company said: “We rolled out a server-side update on Jan 25 that has fixed this and we’re tracking further reports.” That is historical evidence that service-side trouble has occurred; it does not establish today’s service status or confirm that the same fix applies now. How to troubleshoot the error
- Write down the full error. Record the exact words after “Connection Failed,” your platform, and when the problem started. Note whether it refers to online resources, profile information, or configuration. This information helps support distinguish reports, but does not identify the cause by itself.
- Check current service announcements. Look for current official HITMAN or IO Interactive announcements, and check your platform’s service status. The historical IOI statement above cannot tell you whether the service is available now.
- Confirm your platform is online. Check whether other online features on the same platform work. On PlayStation, compare any displayed error code with PlayStation’s error-code listing. Its entries include platform-level messages such as “Online connection failed” and “There was a problem connecting to the server”; they do not establish that HITMAN’s service is down. If you use another platform, consult its official support resources rather than treating PlayStation codes as universal.
- Check the general connection. Confirm that other online services work and that your connection is stable. Steam’s general guidance identifies connection issues, routers or firewalls, security software, background applications, and unstable internet as possible factors in secure-server connection problems. - Contact the appropriate support team if it continues. Provide your platform, the full error text, when it began, and which service and connection checks you completed. That gives game or platform support a more useful starting point than “connection failed” alone.

- Do not rely on reinstalling the game, deleting saves, changing DNS, using a VPN, or a community workaround as a verified fix; the cited evidence does not establish those steps as solutions.
- No replacement router, cable, adapter, or other purchase is established as a dependable fix. Check service and connection conditions first.
