No—the documented Epic Games Store giveaway of Hogwarts Legacy ended on December 18, 2025, at 11 AM ET. Epic’s current offers can change, so check its Free Games page for any new promotion; the reviewed page did not list the game.
When was Hogwarts Legacy free on Epic?
Epic announced the offer on December 11, 2025, as part of its Holiday Sale. Hogwarts Legacy was available to claim at no cost through December 18, 2025, at 11 AM ET. That claim window has passed. Epic’s announcement also said that players who spent at least two hours in the game by the deadline could earn the Chocolate Frog Back Bling in Fortnite. That reward deadline has passed too.
Can you still claim the expired giveaway?
Epic says free promotions have limited durations, and a game must be claimed during the period shown in the offer. The December 2025 promotion is no longer claimable through that offer. If you did claim it in time, check your Epic Games library; Epic says a claimed weekly giveaway remains in the library even if you do not download it immediately.
How to check whether Epic is offering it now
- Open Epic’s Free Games page.
- Check the games and offer end times currently displayed there. The page rotates, so a past listing does not establish what is available later.
- If Hogwarts Legacy appears in a new offer, sign in and claim it before the displayed deadline. Epic’s support guidance says claiming requires an Epic account with two-factor authentication enabled.
Epic’s general weekly schedule says a new free game is available Thursdays at 8 AM PT for seven days. That schedule describes the usual weekly offers; it does not mean Hogwarts Legacy is part of one now. See Epic’s weekly free game information and its guidance on missed free-game offers.

What about the game’s price?
Epic’s product listing identifies Hogwarts Legacy as a Windows single-player open-world action RPG developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games. A captured listing showed a sale ending September 17, 2026, which is already past; its displayed $5.99 price is not a reliable current price. Check the live store listing for the price and any active discount.
