No—the Epic Games Store giveaway has ended. Epic’s 2025 Holiday Sale made Hogwarts Legacy free to claim through December 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. ET. That deadline has passed, so the promotion should not be treated as available now.
When did the free offer end?
Epic’s official 2025 Holiday Sale buyer’s guide, published December 11, 2025, listed Hogwarts Legacy as free through December 18 at 11 a.m. ET. The giveaway is over; the cited offer does not establish a current free claim or replacement promotion.

What did the giveaway include?
The promotion was a digital PC claim through the Epic Games Store, not an offer requiring a physical game or accessory. Epic’s guide also tied a Fortnite reward to playtime:
- Players who had at least two hours of Hogwarts Legacy playtime by December 18, 2025 qualified for the Harry Potter-themed Chocolate Frog Back Bling in Fortnite. Epic said players who had already reached two hours also qualified.
- After playtime confirmation, the item could take 24–48 hours to appear in the Fortnite Locker. Epic advised checking playtime in the game’s Library and contacting Epic Player Support if the reward remained missing.
These reward terms applied to that expired promotion; they do not make the game or Back Bling claimable after the deadline.

What game and PC version did Epic list?
Epic describes Hogwarts Legacy as an open-world action RPG set in the Wizarding World, with a player character attending Hogwarts in the 1800s. The Epic Games Store listing identifies Avalanche Software as developer, Warner Bros. Games as publisher, February 10, 2023 as the release date, and Windows as the platform for that listing.
Epic’s listing gives these Windows system requirements. They are the store’s stated specifications, not an independent performance test:
