Trobbio is a main boss at the Stage, between the Choral Chambers and Whispering Vaults. Watch for his whirlwind charge, delayed fireworks, and rattling floorboards; attack from above during the spin and wait for him to return from beneath the stage before striking. Defeating him grants the Claw Mirror and access to Vaultkeeper’s Melody.
Where is Trobbio?
Trobbio is fought at the Stage, between the Choral Chambers and Whispering Vaults. The Silksong Wiki’s route guide says the direct entrance is initially inaccessible. Its suggested route is to defeat the Cogwork Dancers, travel through the Cogwork Core and Whispering Vaults to reach the far side of the Stage door, then strike a lever from the rafters to open a shortcut. The guide also recommends setting a nearby bench as your respawn point. This is one guide’s route; details may vary with game updates.
How do you beat Trobbio?
Prioritize reading the attack cue and moving clear of hazards over chasing damage. The Hollow Knight Wiki reports 700 health, but that is a community reference figure, not an official developer statistic. The attack names below are reference labels and may not be canonical.
Whirlwind charge
When Trobbio spins and rushes across the arena, jump over him. He bounces off a wall and sends two arcing whirlwind projectiles back into the arena, so keep moving after the collision instead of treating it as the end of the attack. His sides are protected during the spin, but the Hollow Knight Wiki says he can still be damaged from above. A separate guide suggests pogoing during the spin; use that only if you can stay clear of the charge and follow-up projectiles.

Fireworks and bombs
His fireworks attack places five bright circles around the arena. They explode after a delay, so leave marked areas rather than standing nearby to land another hit. For bombs, watch for the smoke cues described by the Silksong Wiki guide. The guide says bombs may sometimes be batted away before they are primed, but warns that the resulting blast can still reach you; clearing the danger zone is the safer choice when uncertain.
Movement under the stage
Rattling floorboards signal that Trobbio is moving beneath the arena. He cannot be hit while under the boards. Track the rattling tiles and wait until he reappears before committing to an attack. The guide also suggests using upper walls to wait out floor hazards when the position is safe, while continuing to watch for his return.

Stagger and damage openings
The Hollow Knight Wiki reports that Trobbio staggers after 15 hits. Treat this as a wiki-reported value rather than a guaranteed threshold across game versions. When he is staggered or finishing an attack, take a measured opening and leave room to evade the next hazard.
What should you equip?
No single best build is established by the available guides. Choose tools and a crest based on whether they help you connect with a fast or airborne target, recover safely through arena hazards, or punish the whirlwind opening. The Silksong Wiki guide suggests Reaper Crest, Threadstorm, Ascendant’s Grip, and other tools, but presents these as options rather than a tested or required setup.
