The clearest early way to get Craftmetal is to buy one from Pebb in Bone Bottom for 60 Rosaries. You can also find a documented pickup in a hidden tunnel in The Marrow, behind an explosive rock, but the available location references do not establish what unlocks that tunnel. Option 1: Buy from Pebb
If you have reached Bone Bottom and can spare 60 Rosaries, Pebb’s sale is the straightforward route: it has a stated price and does not depend on finding the hidden tunnel. The item reference lists one Craftmetal for sale. Hollow Knight Wiki
Option 2: Search The Marrow
Look for a hidden tunnel in The Marrow and the explosive rock blocking the pickup. Gamer Guides and a community map caption both identify the Craftmetal as being behind an exploding rock. Which route should you take?
Choose Pebb if you want the documented, price-known option and already have the Rosaries. Search The Marrow if you are exploring there and can investigate the obstacle, but do not count on it being available before the shop. The sources support both as early options, not a fixed order for every route.

What Craftmetal is for
Craftmetal is a material used for selected purchases from Forge Daughter and Twelfth Architect, as well as for crafting certain tools; it is not general-purpose currency.
