There are eight mementos to display in Bellhome with the Materium. Most are endgame cleanup: expect Act 3 quests, Silk Soar, optional fights, and a few challenges. Use the checklist below to see what each one requires before making the trip. Spoilers for late-game locations, bosses, and quest steps follow.
Before you start: progression gates
Plan this collection for Act 3. Several routes require Silk Soar, and some depend on completing quests or progressing through the Old Heart and Red Memory sequence. The table summarizes what each memento asks you to do; the steps below explain the route.

All eight mementos: locations and requirements
1. Hunter’s Memento — Nuu, Greymoor
Complete the required Hunter’s Journal entries, then speak with Nuu in Greymoor. The threshold is 230 entries in Classic Mode or 231 in Steel Soul Mode, according to the Hollow Knight Wiki’s Hunter’s Journal reference (accessed 2026). The reference lists Flintbeetle, Palestag, Shakra, Garmond and Zaza, Lost Garmond, and Lost Lace among entries that are not required.
2. Craw Memento — Crawfather, Court of Craws
- Complete the Act 3 Dark Heart quest to receive the Craw Summons.
- Take the summons to the house at Craw Lake and use it to enter the Craw gauntlet.
- Defeat Crawfather; the memento is awarded for the victory.
3. Old Heart / Conjoined Heart Memento — the fourth Old Heart
Defeat all four Old Heart bosses: Nyleth, Skarrsinger Karmalita, Crust King Khann, and the Clover Dancers. Three hearts are used to enter Red Memory; the remaining heart becomes the display memento. The specific heart you retain depends on which ones you collected and spent. If you collect all four before spending any, the item reference says the other three hearts take priority, leaving Conjoined Heart as the memento.

4. Grey Memento — Watcher at the Edge, Sands of Karak
- Obtain Silk Soar, then return to the Blasted Steps shortcut.
- Follow the yellow-orb platforms toward the hidden passage and use Silk Soar to reach the boss area.
- Play Elegy of the Deep on the Needolin to awaken the Watcher at the Edge, then defeat it.
5. Surface Memento — Nameless Town
Reach Nameless Town above the Cradle and visit the decaying house at its eastern edge. Play the Needolin beside the corpse to receive the memento. The route is also recommended alongside the Passing of the Age wish, so combining the trips can save a return journey.
6. Guardian’s Memento — Seth, Festival of the Flea
- Progress through Seth’s appearances until the Festival of the Flea is unlocked.
- Complete the Ecstasy of the End wish.
- Beat Seth’s score in each of the festival’s three minigames. Tying a score does not count.
This is one of the more involved mementos because it combines several appearances and three separate score challenges. Keeping your scores low when first completing a minigame can leave easier targets to beat later.

7. Hero’s Memento — Lost Garmond, Blasted Steps
- Find Garmond in Far Fields during Act 3.
- Complete the three-heart and Red Memory progression.
- Accept Hero’s Call from the Bellhart wish board.
- Follow Zaza from the Blasted Steps Bellway and defeat Lost Garmond.
The route guide describes some earlier quest flags as uncertain, so this sequence is a supported route rather than a guarantee that every player will see the wish under identical conditions.
8. Sprintmaster Memento — Sprintmaster Swift, Far Fields
Complete the three races in the Fastest in Pharloom wish, then return to Swift for the additional race that awards the memento. Silk Soar opens the route from the Hunter’s March statue room toward Swift’s course. The extra race appears to be gated behind the Old Hearts, so if it has not appeared after the first three races, continue that progression and revisit.

Which mementos are easiest to miss?
- Most involved: Guardian’s Memento, because you must reach the festival, finish its wish, and beat three separate scores.
- Most sequencing-sensitive: Old Heart / Conjoined Heart, because spending three hearts determines which one remains for display.
- Most dependent on traversal: Grey Memento and Sprintmaster Memento, which require Silk Soar to reach their routes.
- Most easily overlooked interaction: Surface Memento, hidden in a specific house and collected by using the Needolin beside the corpse.
