LEVEL-5 describes Holy Horror Mansion as a “Ghost Craft RPG” and a heartwarming horror story about a mysterious family. Its young protagonist lives in a mansion above an apartment building owned by his grandmother. After finding a camera in a locked room and encountering a ghost, he becomes caught up in a larger turmoil.

Is Holy Horror Mansion a Yo-kai Watch sequel?
No direct sequel or shared continuity has been established. When LEVEL-5 first announced the project in 2024, it called Holy Horror Mansion “The Next Concept for Yo-kai Watch.” That signals a conceptual connection to the franchise, but the available announcements do not identify the new game as Yo-kai Watch or confirm that it takes place in the same world. What do you do in Holy Horror Mansion?
The official description centers on discovering, creating and commanding Mononoke spirits. The September 2026 presentation also described broad interactions with the environment, town exploration and boss battles; those are presentation details attributed to LEVEL-5 CEO Akihiro Hino, not independent hands-on findings. In that coverage, Hino said, “Almost everything can be interacted with.” (Gematsu’s September 2026 report.)
Photograph objects to create Mononoke
The in-game camera, Cameron, can photograph objects and bring them to life as Mononoke. Hino’s examples included softening objects so they can serve as trampolines and transforming objects into dungeons, suggesting that the camera’s role extends beyond simply collecting spirits.

Combine items with blueprints
Blueprints let players fuse small items to create fusion Mononoke. This gives the crafting system a distinct role alongside photographing objects directly.

Some Mononoke can attack. In battles, players use cards to command their allies and outsmart enemies. The 2026 presentation also featured boss encounters and battles set to dance music.

Which platforms will have Holy Horror Mansion, and when does it release?
LEVEL-5 currently lists Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Steam, with release planned for 2027. The official site gives no exact launch date or regional rollout, so the year and platform list should be read as current plans rather than a guarantee of the final schedule.
