Build Moze around follow-up damage: equip a CRIT-focused setup, mark a priority enemy, and pair him with allies who attack frequently. In the Version 4.6 build reference updated September 26, 2026, the recommended starting setup is Worrisome, Blissful, Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters, and Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves. These are recommendations, not universal best-in-slot rules; debuff access, team follow-up frequency, Light Cone superimposition, and relic quality can change the result.

This baseline follows the Version 4.6 build reference and the alternatives discussed by Icy Veins and HoyoWhatpeon. Moze is a four-star Lightning Hunt character. One build database labels him a Main DPS, while Icy Veins describes him as a sub-DPS; in practice, think of him as a follow-up damage dealer whose fit depends on the rest of the team.
Best Light Cones for Moze
Worrisome, Blissful: strongest all-around reference pick
The Version 4.6 ranking places Worrisome, Blissful first overall. Its Tame debuff also benefits allies’ CRIT DMG against affected targets, giving it team value beyond Moze’s personal damage. That makes it a natural choice in a lineup where several characters focus on the same marked enemy.
Baptism of Pure Thought: a personal-damage alternative
Baptism of Pure Thought can compete for Moze’s personal damage and may also perform well for team damage, according to Icy Veins. Its strongest listed debuff condition requires three debuffs; Moze supplies two himself, so another debuff source is needed to reach that condition. Whether it is the better choice depends on the team and the Light Cone’s superimposition.

Swordplay and Cruising in the Stellar Sea
Swordplay and Cruising in the Stellar Sea are additional listed options. HoyoWhatpeon identifies Cruising in the Stellar Sea as a free, superimposable option from Herta’s Store. Check current in-game availability and your account’s access before planning around it.
Use published rankings as a snapshot rather than a guaranteed ordering for every account. The Version 4.6 reference says its damage ratios are relative comparisons tied to the specific team and superimposition shown; they are not absolute damage values and should not be compared as if every setup were tested under identical conditions. Best Relics and planar ornaments
Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters is the recommended Cavern set when enemies carry enough debuffs. Icy Veins lists a two-piece bonus of 12% damage against debuffed enemies and explains that the four-piece value improves against enemies with two or three debuffs. A teammate who supplies another debuff helps Moze meet the higher condition.

The Ashblazing Grand Duke
The Ashblazing Grand Duke is a strong alternative because much of Moze’s damage comes from follow-up attacks. If completing either full set is awkward, a two-piece combination of Grand Duke and Pioneer is also listed as an option.
Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves
Duran is the leading planar choice for teams that generate frequent follow-up attacks. Allied follow-ups build its stacks, increasing the wearer’s follow-up damage; at five stacks it also grants a CRIT DMG bonus. The more consistently the team triggers follow-ups, the more naturally this set fits.
Other planar options
- Inert Salsotto: a flexible alternative that grants CRIT Rate and boosts follow-up and Ultimate damage when its condition is met.
- Firmament Frontline: Glamoth: an option when Moze reaches its Speed breakpoint.
- Lushaka: a team-oriented tradeoff noted by Icy Veins.
- Izumo: an option when another Hunt character is on the team.
Moze stats and trace priority
Start with a CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG body, ATK% feet, Lightning DMG sphere, and ATK% rope. For substats, the Version 4.6 reference prioritizes Speed only where the team needs it, followed by CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK%. Icy Veins also lists SPD as a competing feet choice and Energy Regeneration Rate as a rope option, so choose around the needs of the lineup instead of forcing a universal Speed target.

Feixiao / Moze / Robin / Aventurine is a representative lineup. Moze adds follow-up attacks, Robin supports the team, and Aventurine provides sustain. Feixiao’s follow-up-oriented damage plan also makes a partner who contributes allied attacks a coherent fit.

The build references identify Moze as a possible substitute for Topaz & Numby in Feixiao and Ashveil follow-up teams. Treat this as a roster-dependent alternative rather than a claim that the characters are interchangeable in every fight or investment state.

Clara follow-up team
A Clara counter team with Moze as the follow-up partner is another listed composition. Across these examples, keep the team’s sustain needs covered and favor allies that make use of frequent attacks or help apply debuffs.
How to play Moze’s marked-target loop
- Use Moze’s Skill on the priority enemy. This marks the target as Prey.
- Have allies focus attacks on that target. Their attacks help generate the charges that trigger Moze’s follow-ups.
- Reapply Prey when the charges are spent or the marked enemy is defeated. The Version 4.4 guide gives this as a practical rotation summary; consult the live in-game Character Guide for exact current ability wording.
How to choose between the options
- For whole-team value: Worrisome, Blissful’s Tame debuff is a notable reason to favor it.
- For Moze’s personal damage: compare Baptism of Pure Thought, while accounting for whether the team can supply its third debuff.
- For a debuff-heavy setup: Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters benefits when allies help keep the target debuffed.
- For a follow-up-heavy team: Duran gains value as allied follow-ups build its stacks.
- For a different roster or incomplete sets: consider the listed alternatives and choose for actual team conditions rather than copying a ranking alone.
