Hunt March 7th is a four-star Imaginary Hunt character whose kit revolves around appointing an ally as her Shifu. That ally’s attacks build March’s Charge; at seven Charge, she immediately acts and upgrades her Basic ATK. Build around frequent enhanced Basics, while choosing a Shifu and equipment that suit your team. The recommendations below follow HoyoWhatpeon’s Version 4.4 review, dated August 13, 2026.
How Hunt March 7th’s kit works
March’s Skill designates one ally other than herself as her Shifu and increases that ally’s Speed. Using the Skill on someone else replaces the previous Shifu, so the assignment is an active team choice rather than a permanent bonus.
Shifu’s Path determines the effect March’s attacks trigger: depending on that Path, her attack effects add damage or improve Toughness Reduction. Shifu also helps charge March by using attacks or an Ultimate. The Prydwen guide details her kit and traces in its Hunt March 7th guide.
Charge, enhanced Basics, and Ultimate
When March reaches seven or more Charge, she immediately takes action, gains a damage increase, and her Basic ATK becomes enhanced. The enhanced Basic hits multiple times, with a chance to add extra hits. Her Ultimate increases the hit count and extra-hit chance of her next enhanced Basic.

In practice, this makes two things important: pick a Shifu who acts often, and use March’s enhanced Basic deliberately. The more reliably Shifu takes actions, the more often March can reach her enhanced attack cycle.
Traces add team utility
- A2: Advances March’s action at the start of battle.
- A4: Lets March reduce Toughness for enemies whose Weakness Type matches Shifu’s Combat Type, using the Imaginary Weakness Break effect.
- A6: After March uses an enhanced Basic, increases Shifu’s CRIT DMG and Break Effect for two turns.
These effects make March more than a self-contained damage dealer: her Shifu choice also shapes team utility and synergy.
Best Hunt March 7th build
HoyoWhatpeon’s Version 4.4 build review, dated August 13, 2026, uses In the Night, four-piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat, and Rutilant Arena as its reference setup. The set and ornament choices reinforce the enhanced-Basic loop, while Rutilant Arena is conditional on reaching its CRIT Rate threshold.

Stat targets and priority
The guide lists 70% CRIT Rate for Rutilant Arena, 140% or more CRIT DMG, 2,800 or more ATK, and either base Speed with a fast Shifu or 134 Speed otherwise. These are guide targets, not universal requirements: actual results depend on equipment, team, Eidolons, and encounter.
- Reach 70% CRIT Rate if you are using Rutilant Arena.
- Build CRIT DMG.
- Then prioritize ATK% and Speed, accounting for how quickly your Shifu acts.
Choosing a Light Cone, relics, and ornaments
Light Cone: match the attack pattern
In the Night is the Version 4.4 guide’s reference choice, with CRIT Rate and damage scaling linked to Speed. Swordplay can be a good fit when March repeatedly attacks one priority enemy, allowing her to stay focused on the same target. Cruising in the Stellar Sea is the guide’s accessible alternative. The best fit depends on what you own and whether your encounters let March maintain that target focus.

Relics: full set or mixed critical stats
Four-piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat supports March with ATK, Speed, and enhanced-Basic benefits, making it the direct fit for her main damage loop. If a mixed set gives you stronger critical stats, two Musketeer pieces plus two Scholar Lost in Erudition pieces is a flexible alternative.
Planar Ornaments: check the conditions
- Rutilant Arena: Choose it when your build can reach 70% CRIT Rate.
- Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm: Consider it when another ally on the team shares March’s Hunt Path.
- Firmament Frontline: Glamoth: Use it when the Speed requirements work for your build; the guide lists 135 Speed and 160 Speed for its second tier.
Shifu choice and a reference team
Prioritize a Shifu who acts frequently, since those actions help March build Charge. Then consider whether the team benefits more from the damage or Toughness Reduction associated with that ally’s Path. March’s traces also reward coordination: after an enhanced Basic, she buffs her Shifu’s CRIT DMG and Break Effect for two turns.

Feixiao / March 7th / Robin / Aventurine
HoyoWhatpeon’s example lineup pairs Feixiao with March, Robin, and Aventurine. Assign Feixiao as Shifu and focus March’s enhanced Basic on Feixiao’s target. The guide’s rationale is that Feixiao attacks frequently and charges March, Robin supports the follow-up core, and Aventurine sustains the team while also attacking. Treat this as a reference lineup rather than a requirement: the right team depends on Shifu action frequency, Path-based effects, and the support or damage your lineup needs.
