Use the HoYoLAB interactive map to find Penacony treasure locations by area, then check the relevant area guide for puzzle gates, special encounters, and rooms where the floor orientation changes. Penacony spans multiple maps, and older static guides may have missing pins or cover an earlier game version, so confirm uncertain finds against the in-game map and area counter.
How to use the Penacony chest map
- Open the HoYoLAB interactive map. HoYoLAB’s Honkai: Star Rail account announced the map on April 26, 2023, describing it as a way to locate treasure, readable items, enemies, and Fragmentum locations. The announcement explains the tool’s intended use, but does not promise that every current pin is complete.
- Select the Penacony area you are exploring. Penacony is not one continuous map. Choose the matching named map before following pins; later area overviews list 12 maps, including Golden Hour, A Child’s Dream, The Reverie (Dreamscape), Dewlight Pavilion, Dreamflux Reef, SoulGlad Scorchsand Audition Venue, Penacony Grand Theater, and Radiant Feldspar.
- Use a local guide when a pin is inaccessible. Check whether the reward requires a puzzle, enemy encounter, mission progress, or access to a special room. Use the guide’s Space Anchor or landmark as your starting point, and confirm the floor or room before following directions.
- Compare against the in-game area counter. Treat it as a completion check for the area you are in, not as proof that a particular online guide uses the same definition of “chest.”
Why Penacony chest totals differ
Community guides count different areas and reward types, and some were written for earlier versions. The figures below are guide-authored counts, not a single official Penacony-wide inventory. Do not add them together: their coverage and inclusion rules differ, and the sources do not establish one current total with a consistent definition of a chest.
| Guide | Reported count and scope | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| LuckyPomPom_EN, HoYoLAB version 2.0 guide (2024) | 123 across The Reverie (Reality) (16), The Reverie (Dreamscape) (33), A Child’s Dream (15), Golden Hour (32), and Dream’s Edge (27) | A version 2.0 snapshot covering five areas; not a current Penacony-wide total. |
| Honkai.gg / DotGG, A Child’s Dream guide (2024) | 25, including puzzles and Lordly Trashcans | Warns that two pins were missing from the official map when the guide was written; includes a chest obtained during a Trailblaze Mission. |
| Honkai.gg / DotGG, The Reverie (Dreamscape) guide (2024) | 48, including puzzles and Lordly Trashcans | Excludes 12 chests from the “Slaughterhouse” Adventure Mission; the author reported missing map pins at publication. |
| Honkai.gg / DotGG, Dewlight Pavilion guide (2024) | 46, including puzzles, Lordly Trashcans, and the Outsourcer Adventure Mission | Organized by floors, 3D rooms, and City Sandpit. |
| SoraHoshina, HoYoLAB version 2.2 Penacony Grand Theater guide (2024) | 53, including puzzles, Lordly Trashcans, and Loothunt in Mazeville mission rewards | Covers multiple 3D rooms and separates puzzle, enemy, special encounter, and mission rewards. |
A broader HoYoLAB area overview lists 12 Penacony maps, but its counts conflict with older guides—for example, it gives A Child’s Dream as 14 and The Reverie (Dreamscape) as 31. Use that overview to understand the expanded area set, not to establish a canonical count.
Area-by-area routes and tricky rooms
The Reverie (Reality), Golden Hour, and Dream’s Edge
The version 2.0 HoYoLAB guide groups these three areas with The Reverie (Dreamscape) and A Child’s Dream in its 123-chest tally. Use the map’s area selector to keep their pins separate. The cited materials do not provide detailed route directions for these three areas, so follow current pins and verify any remaining rewards with the in-game area counter.

A Child’s Dream
The 2024 Honkai.gg / DotGG guide reports 25 chests when puzzle and Lordly Trashcan rewards are included. It covers ordinary chests, Dream Ticker and Dream Jigsaw rewards, Formidable Foes, Lordly Trashcans, a Warp Trotter, and a chest obtained during a Trailblaze Mission. Two rooms allow movement across walls or ceilings; identify the room and its orientation before using left/right directions. The guide also noted two missing pins on the official map at publication.
The Reverie (Dreamscape)
The 2024 Honkai.gg / DotGG guide reports 48 chests including puzzles and Lordly Trashcans, but excludes 12 “Slaughterhouse” Adventure Mission rewards. Its routes use elevators, Hanu’s Adventure, Arcane Artwork, Bubble Bridges, Dream Ticker and Dream Jigsaw puzzles, Formidable Foes, and Lordly Trashcans. The author reported that several map pins were missing when the guide was published.

Dewlight Pavilion
The 2024 Honkai.gg / DotGG guide reports 46 chests, counting puzzles, Lordly Trashcans, and the Outsourcer Adventure Mission. Follow its divisions for the first and second floors, west/east/south 3D rooms, and City Sandpit. Bubble Bridges, Hanu’s Adventure, and orientation changes can affect how you reach a reward; check the room and floor before following a route.
Penacony Grand Theater
SoraHoshina’s HoYoLAB version 2.2 guide (2024) reports 53 chests, including puzzles, Lordly Trashcans, and Loothunt in Mazeville mission rewards. It covers multiple 3D rooms and begins routes from Space Anchors. Track puzzle chests, Formidable Foes, Lordly Trashcans, and mission rewards as distinct prerequisites rather than assuming every pin marks an immediately accessible chest.
Other listed Penacony maps
The later HoYoLAB overview includes Dreamflux Reef, SoulGlad Scorchsand Audition Venue, and Radiant Feldspar among Penacony’s 12 maps. The listed area set is useful for checking whether you selected the right map, but its counts differ from earlier area-specific guides and are not a reliable universal completion total.
What to check when a chest is still missing
- Confirm the area and floor. A pin on another named map—or another level of a multi-floor area—will not be found by searching the current room.
- Check access conditions. Some rewards depend on a Dream Ticker or Dream Jigsaw puzzle, a Formidable Foe, a Lordly Trashcan interaction or battle, a Warp Trotter, Hanu’s Adventure, or mission progress.
- Reorient in 3D rooms. In A Child’s Dream and Dewlight Pavilion, walls or ceilings may function as paths after an orientation change. Verify the exact room before following directional instructions.
- Allow for old or absent pins. The A Child’s Dream and The Reverie (Dreamscape) guides documented pin omissions at publication. If a pin does not match the game, check a dated local guide and the area counter rather than repeatedly searching an empty spot.
- Check what the guide counts. A guide may include puzzle, special encounter, or mission rewards—or exclude a mission’s rewards entirely. That can explain a count mismatch without an undiscovered ordinary chest.
Which map or guide should you trust?
Use the official HoYoLAB map for locating pins, then judge a written route by its version date, areas covered, reward-inclusion rules, and how clearly it separates floors and 3D rooms. The official announcement establishes that the map is intended to locate treasure, but the cited area guides show that pin completeness and chest-count scope can vary. For completion, use current in-game area counters alongside the map instead of treating an older guide’s total as definitive.
