If the Stormbird is missing from the storm cloud during Aerial Capture: West, Guerrilla acknowledged this exact bug and documented a fix in Patch 1.23. Update the game, reload from a save or restart, then return to the storm cloud. Those steps are reasonable troubleshooting, not a guarantee for every current build or save.
What the West Stormbird bug does
The West Aerial Capture bug could leave the Stormbird absent from the storm cloud. Guerrilla’s Patch 1.23 notes say the bird might not appear until the player restarted from save or died. Without the encounter, players could not start Aerial Capture: West or collect the Mighty Pint Delver’s Trinket, blocking The Delver’s Trove.
This was a documented issue, not evidence that every missing Stormbird has the same cause. The patch notes describe several different Aerial Capture and Stormbird problems.
What to try if the Stormbird is still missing
- Check for game updates. Guerrilla listed the West spawn issue as fixed in Patch 1.23 and documented additional Aerial Capture fixes in Patch 1.24.
- Reload a save or restart the game. Return to the storm cloud and check whether the encounter starts. Reloading or restarting is a troubleshooting attempt, not a guaranteed fix for every save or current build.
- Identify the location and failure mode. If the problem persists, check whether you are dealing with the West storm-cloud spawn or a different capture issue before reporting it.
- Report a reproducible problem through Guerrilla’s Support Form. In its Patch 1.22 announcement, Guerrilla identified the Support Form as its primary route for issue reports and said social-media mentions, DMs, and comments were not an efficient way to source them.
Check whether it is a different Aerial Capture bug
Guerrilla’s patch notes distinguish several issues that can sound like “Aerial Capture is bugged.” Match the symptom to the relevant case:

These are separate failure modes; a fix or workaround for one does not establish that another has been resolved on a particular save.

Guerrilla acknowledged Aerial Capture progression reports in Patch 1.22, then listed the West spawn issue and other Stormbird fixes in Patch 1.23 and Patch 1.24. The notes establish that the developer addressed those specific bugs at the time. They do not establish whether the symptom currently reproduces on every platform, game build, or save, nor do they promise that a reload will resolve a lingering problem.
Later player discussions include individual reports of continuing Aerial Capture trouble, but those anecdotes do not show how widespread a current issue is. If your problem remains after updating and reloading, describe the exact capture location, what you did immediately before the failure, and what happens when you revisit it in a report to Guerrilla.
