For the amount you will actually download, open the game’s listing in the PlayStation Store on your PS5 or check the console’s download details for the version available to your account. Do not assume the old figure applies to a different region, later update, or to the PS4-owner upgrade path.

Who can use the free PS5 enhancement update?
Square Enix says owners of the PS4 game, physical or digital, who also own a PS5 can download the free enhancement update. An internet connection is required. The Square Enix upgrade information sets out these conditions.
Digital PS4 copy
Owners of the PS4 digital edition qualify for the upgrade, subject to the PlayStation Store terms. If the PS4 game came through PlayStation Plus Monthly Games, the Store listing says an active PlayStation Plus subscription is required to get, download, and play the upgrade.

Physical PS4 copy
A disc owner needs a PS5 with a disc drive; a PS4 physical copy cannot be upgraded on PS5 Digital Edition. The PS4 disc must be inserted each time the PS5 digital version is downloaded or played. These conditions are stated by the PlayStation Store upgrade listing and Square Enix.

Where to check your actual download size
- On your PS5, open the PlayStation Store and find the version you intend to install: the PS5 enhancement associated with your PS4 copy or the standalone INTERGRADE edition.
- Review the listing and the console’s download details before starting the download. The displayed amount is more relevant to your account and available version than the 2021 regional report.
- If you own the PS4 disc, make sure your PS5 has a disc drive and keep the disc available for the upgrade’s download and play requirements.
