If you left the Maw before finishing its introduction, the reported route back is through a death gate in your faction capital: the Valley of Strength in Orgrimmar for Horde, or Stormwind for Alliance. Once you arrive, the guide directs you to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon to continue the active introductory quest. These directions come from a third-party guide, not current Blizzard documentation, so gate availability and exact NPC coordinates may vary.
Return to the Maw through your faction capital
- Go to your faction capital. Horde players should go to Orgrimmar; Alliance players should go to Stormwind.
- Find the death gate. A guide dated December 9, 2024, places the Orgrimmar gate in the Valley of Strength and identifies a gate in Stormwind for Alliance players. Its directions are reported in the SplicedOnline guide; current gate behavior and unlock requirements are not independently confirmed.
- Continue the introduction in the Maw. The guide says to speak with Highlord Bolvar Fordragon. It lists his location as 40, 68.2, but those coordinates are guide-reported rather than confirmed against a current official source.
Check whether a quest in the introduction is complete
The Maw introduction is a sequence, so completing one quest does not establish that the whole chain is finished. Wowhead identifies An Undeserved Fate as quest ID 59761 and lists this in-game command to check that quest’s completion flag:
/run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(59761))
The command checks only quest 59761; it does not report the status of the entire introduction. See the Wowhead page for An Undeserved Fate.

If the gate or quest giver is missing
The available directions do not establish every eligibility condition or explain how to recover the route for every character. Check your quest log and map markers for the active introductory quest. If you abandoned a quest, cannot find the gate, or arrive without a usable quest marker, the cause may depend on your character’s progress or on current game behavior; the cited sources do not confirm a universal fix.
