Link your PlayStation Network account to Epic Games through Epic’s website—not through a PS5 system-settings menu. Sign in to Epic with the PlayStation account used on your PS5, then confirm the connection under Linked accounts.
Before unlinking anything, check which Epic or PlayStation account contains the progress you want to keep. Fortnite and Fall Guys progress generally follows the Epic account, while Rocket League progress is handled differently through the external platform account.

Before you start
- Confirm you are using the correct PlayStation Network account on the PS5.
- Have the PlayStation email address and password available.
- Know which Epic Games account contains the Fortnite or Fall Guys progress you want to use.
- Sign out of other Epic accounts in your browser so you do not accidentally link the wrong one.
Your PS5 is only the hardware. The connection is between one PlayStation Network account and one Epic Games account. The two accounts do not need to use the same email address; Epic says a different email can be used when completing an automatically created console account.

How to link your Epic account to a PS5
- Open Epic Games’ sign-in page in a phone or computer browser.
- Sign out if an unrelated Epic account is already open.
- Select the PlayStation icon.
- Sign in with the credentials for the PlayStation Network account used on your PS5.
- Follow Epic’s prompts. If you have played an Epic game on PlayStation without completing account registration, Epic may identify an automatically created or incomplete account.
- If you already have the correct Epic account, open its Linked accounts page and select Link beneath PlayStation.
- Review the PlayStation account shown, then approve the authorization.
- Launch Fortnite, Fall Guys, or Rocket League on the PS5 and check that the expected profile, items, and progress appear.

If Epic created an account automatically
If you first played on PlayStation without registering a full Epic account, Epic may have created an account connected to your PlayStation Network account. It may not yet have a separately registered email address, password, display name, or full name, but it can still contain your console progress and purchases.
Do not assume that an incomplete account is empty. Follow Epic’s instructions to upgrade the console account to a full Epic Games account. Completing that account is usually safer than unlinking it immediately.

Sign in to the Epic account that contains the progress you want, open Linked accounts, and choose Link under the PlayStation icon. Complete the PlayStation authorization using the PSN account on your PS5.

One Epic account can have only one PlayStation account linked at a time, and the same PlayStation account cannot be linked to multiple Epic accounts.
If you see “This PlayStation account is already linked to another Epic Games account”
This message means the PSN account was previously connected to a different Epic account, or that Epic created an account for it when you first played without completing registration.
- Sign out of the current Epic account in your browser.
- Choose the PlayStation icon on Epic’s sign-in page.
- Sign in with the affected PlayStation Network account.
- Identify which Epic account opens and determine where its progress and purchases are stored.
- If it is the wrong Epic account, open Linked accounts and unlink PlayStation only after checking its data.
- Do not launch the game after unlinking and before relinking. Doing so can create a new, empty Epic account.
- Sign in to the intended Epic account, open Linked accounts, choose Link under PlayStation, and finish the authorization.
Epic’s official troubleshooting guidance covers this already-linked situation. If you cannot identify which account owns the data, stop before unlinking and contact Epic Support.
If Epic says you previously linked a different PlayStation account
Epic can restrict an Epic account from being connected to a replacement account of the same platform type. You may need to remove the existing PlayStation link and use Epic’s linking-restriction removal process before connecting the new PSN account.

Epic states that this restriction-removal process can be used only once every 365 days (verified August 2026). Check the PlayStation account shown on every confirmation screen before proceeding. Details are in Epic’s console unlinking and linking-restriction guidance.
Why your progress may not appear
Fortnite and Fall Guys
Epic says Fortnite and Fall Guys progress and purchases are associated with the Epic Games account. If the wrong Epic account is linked, the PS5 can show a different profile or appear to be missing items. Stop playing, identify the account with the desired data, and correct the link before making further changes.
Rocket League
Epic’s support documentation treats Rocket League differently: its progress is associated with the external platform account used to play. Do not assume that Rocket League data follows exactly the same rules as Fortnite or Fall Guys.

Different progress on different platforms
If two platforms have separate progress histories, linking does not promise to merge them. Epic says players must choose which platform’s progress to retain when the data conflicts. Linking also may require launching the game on the newly connected platform before content appears.

Unlinking is not a harmless reset. Epic warns that an unlinked console can lose access to Fortnite and Fall Guys progress and purchases stored on the Epic account. Launching a game on that console afterward can automatically create a new, empty Epic account.
Unlinking the platform account that holds Rocket League data can reset its inventory and XP level. If the PlayStation account has an active Crew subscription, Epic advises canceling it first because new rewards will not continue through the removed platform connection.

Child and Cabined Accounts
A child account may be a Cabined Account if a parent or guardian has not completed the required setup. Such accounts can have feature restrictions. If Epic blocks the connection or requests parental consent, involve the parent or guardian instead of repeatedly unlinking and relinking accounts.

Frequently asked questions
Can I link two PS5 accounts to one Epic account?
No. Epic permits only one PlayStation account per Epic account at a time.
Can my Epic and PlayStation accounts use different email addresses?
Yes. Matching email addresses are not required.
Can I merge two Fortnite accounts?
No. Separate, conflicting platform progress cannot simply be merged. You must identify which account’s progress you want to retain.

Sign out of Epic, select the PlayStation icon, and sign in with the affected PSN credentials. Epic should identify the account attached to that PlayStation account.
Can I change the PlayStation account later?
You may be able to change it, but same-platform restrictions apply. Epic says restriction removal is limited to once every 365 days, and unlinking can affect access to progress, purchases, Rocket League data, and Crew rewards.
Does this work for Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League?
The Epic–PlayStation linking process applies to all three, but their data is handled differently. Fortnite and Fall Guys data is associated with Epic; Rocket League data is associated with the external platform account.
