If you can’t access that inbox, try recovering it through your email provider; if that fails, use an already linked platform account or contact EA Help. The right route depends on which sign-in methods are still available to you.
Reset a forgotten or expired EA Account password
- Open the EA Account recovery page and go to the sign-in option.
- Choose the option to reset or create a new password. Enter the email address or EA ID associated with the account.
- Check that email inbox for EA’s reset message and follow its link to set a new password. If you don’t see it, check the spam or junk folder.
- Sign in with the new password. If EA says your credentials have expired and the reset does not resolve the issue, EA advises waiting 90 minutes before trying again; this is guidance for that expired-credentials problem, not a support response-time estimate. If you can’t access the email address on your EA Account
First use the email provider’s own password-reset or identity-verification process to regain access to the inbox. EA recommends recovering the email account through its provider. If you still cannot get into EA, move on to another sign-in method that is already connected to the EA Account or contact EA Help for account recovery.
Try an already linked platform account
At EA sign-in, choose a platform or service only if it was previously linked to the EA Account. EA lists PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam, Apple, Facebook, and Google as possible sign-in options. A platform login will not reclaim an account unless that link already exists. Don’t create a second EA Account as a substitute for recovering the original one.
Use recognized-device verification if EA offers it
EA may let you verify your identity from a device you use regularly: sign in on that device, launch a game with online features, and follow the verification prompts. EA says this option is not available to everyone and may not appear on every attempt, so use it only when it is presented.

Contact EA Help when self-service routes fail
If you cannot reset the password, access the registered inbox, or sign in through an account already linked to EA, contact EA through its account support page. Recovery is handled case by case; the information below can help EA identify the account, but providing it does not guarantee that access can be restored.
Have these details ready
- The original email address used to create the EA Account.
- Linked usernames or platform IDs, such as your EA ID, Xbox Gamertag, or PlayStation Network Online ID.
- Invoice numbers for games purchased through an EA platform.
- For a mobile-game recovery, the mobile game ID, if applicable.
If you think someone hacked your EA Account
Secure the account and the email address attached to it, then contact EA if you still cannot sign in or if content is missing. Follow EA’s hacked-account guidance:

- Change the EA password to a strong, unique password.
- Change the password for the associated email account as well.
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on the EA Account using the steps in EA’s 2FA guide.
- Monitor account activity and contact EA if you remain locked out or notice missing content.
Regaining account access and recovering missing game content are separate issues. EA warns, “It’s possible we won’t be able to recover all your missing content.” For a mobile game, secure the account linked to the game; if the game is not linked, progress may be stored on the device. Secure that device and consider linking the game account for backup.
Check for sign-in errors that are not a hack
- Invalid or recently changed email: EA says an invalid or recently changed address can trigger an email error. EA also limits email changes to once every 30 days.
- Expired credentials: Reset the password first. If the expired-credentials problem remains, wait 90 minutes and retry, as described above.
- Connectivity message: Check your internet connection; a connectivity warning is not by itself evidence that the account was compromised.
- EA app error 104: This error concerns the app’s background service. Fully close the EA app, then reopen it.
Protect your account while getting help
Use EA’s official sign-in and Help pages. Never share your password, login details, verification codes, or passkeys with another person or an unofficial recovery service. EA’s documented recovery options are password reset, available linked sign-in and verification methods, and official support—not a paid unlock service.
